Maybe I’m just uninformed but I didn’t think fundamentalists were so anti-Catholic.

Unfortunately I've learned that it isn't just "fundamentalists." I was quite naive about the extent of animosity towards Catholics and the Church but FR has taught me a lot over the years.

Just got off the phone w/my brother. He read me a letter he sent his elected official. She has come out against the RCC - regarding abortion. Since he's on a pro life committe at this church, he blasted here. He then tells me she's a Catholic. I believe some Catholic bashing is coming from Catholics themselves.

Many Catholics are Catholics by birth and they do not follow the teachings in any way shape matter or form. Pelosi, Kennedy are just two examples.

IMO, the writer is clueless because....But for Catholics, the fundamentalist puts the Bible in place of the Church as his “paper pope.” Instead of a living teacher (the Church) with a book (the Bible), the fundamentalist has only a book. The writer has very little knowledge of what the bible is - because it is the LIVING WORD OF GOD. The Words have power.

I could give a flip what others say or think - most of them are living in a state of confusion. I believe anyone truly seeking The Lord could care less either way others think. What I have is personal, untouchable, grounded in faith. I take no heed nor discouraged while others grope around trying to be 'legit' in whatever.

It is no suprise to me that there is a lot of anti-Catholic bashing here at FR. It seems that the non-Catholic Christians think they OWN this part of the forums.
