Thank you all who offered prayers. My daughter's teammate is able to now move her legs and her left foot. With time, she is expected to make a full recovery. She will be facing many challenges, and many months of physical therapy, but with her teammates help and support, she should be fine. Thank you, thank you all, for your prayers. She started recovery in earnest after your kind responses. It could have easily went the other way. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
She's young and resilient, and with God's help (and that of our wonderful medical world here, unless Obama kills it), I pray that she will fully recover. In any case, that she will do what God has meant her to do.
Prayers for all.
Continued prayers and thanks for giving us the update.
Blessings to all.
A player on the opposing team gave her a cheap shot that knocked her on her back. She has a small spinal fracture, spinal contusion, and has conus medullaris syndrome as a result. She got out of the ICU yesterday. The doctors said initially that blood flow to the damaged portion of her spine was cut off for a time, and there was a definite possibility of permanent paralysis. The kindness of the people on this forum is amazing.
Thanks for letting us know. Continued prayers for her speedy full recovery.
Wonderful news! Thanks for posting this.
Thank you for the update, and thank God for the overwatch.
