Catholic Word of the Day: BASILIANS, 12-21-09
CatholicReference.net ^ | 12-21-09 | Fr. John Hardon's Modern Catholic Dictionary

Featured Term (selected at random):

BASILIANS

A general name for various religious institutes. Orthodox monks are sometimes called Basilians because they have inherited the spirit of St. Basil (329-79), although they have no uniform rule. There are five Catholic Basilian orders of men and four congregations of women, all of pontifical status. A congregation of the Priests of St. Basil was founded in 1822 at Annonay in France for educational and parochial work.

I guessed the Word of the Day had something to do with St. Basil. Easy -- LOL!
