And now, meet the other "Father Z"

For the last several years, I've been following with great interest the astonishing success that Father Zakaria Botros, a Coptic priest, has had in evangelizing the Muslim world — in Arabic, using the Koran. As an Arab, he understands the mindset that so many Muslims have toward Christianity, and he exploits that knowledge quite effectively, not by simply presenting the claims for the divinity of Christ, as an example. Rather, he firmly turns the tables on Muslim apologists by relentlessly critiquing and refuting their own claims, using mainly the Koran as his tool. The reports are, he is successfully converting large numbers of Muslims (albeit secretly, for fear of deadly reprisals from their erstwhile co-religionists), and this is causing a lot of consternation among many Muslims who see Father Z is a real threat to Muslim hegemony.

And they are right to think this.

The muslim position on Jesus is particularly interesting -— they preach that he was the second greatest prophet, great man, virgin birth, etc.

But deny he was Diety and deny he was crucified/defeated death.

Being a great teacher is inconsistent with claiming Diety — for that one must either be crazy or a liar (or telling the truth).

The way the muslims get around that is to falsely state Jesus never claims divinity -— and to studiously avoid reading the Christian scriptures that address that point.

Hence why the Bible is banned in muslim countries.

May G-d send his angels to surround and protect him from harm as continues to save the lost.

BUMP for a man who risks his life to bring the truth to the Muslims.

Nicely summarized...

The way the muslims get around that is to falsely state Jesus never claims divinity -— and to studiously avoid reading the Christian scriptures that address that point....Or they will say the gospels were corrupted, and that the stories of His claiming deity and the resurrection were added much later to the original gospels.

...To finish the point...What I've found is that the average Muslim cannot tell you exactly who corrupted the gospels, and when.

Good point. They are big on claiming that the gospels are corrupted, but I don’t think you’ll find any muslims that are involved in any actual textual analysis of any actual texts.

Its just something they say, to dismiss the subject out of hand but never really engage the subject.

Also, they claim that Jesus was never crucified but that he was “replaced” with someone else or something else in the semblance of a man. They also deny that God grants grace
