In the light of what is, what is not, what is going to be, how then shall we proceed? At the very least in light of lifes realities, be thankful! God is good no matter what or why or who and Gods saving grace is sufficient for you.
Thanksgiving Deserves the Right Attitude
A right attitude towards God is needed, not a attitude of indifference and rejection as in Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were [they] THANKFUL; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, UNTHANKFUL, unholy (2 Timothy 3:1-2). O GIVE THANKS unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever (Psalm 118:1,4). And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation (Luke 1:50).
Thanksgiving Involves the Right Action . The right action is necessary. O GIVE THANKS unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever (Psalm 107:1).

James 1:17
That is asking too much. I can’t be thankful for this disgusting life. Not even for Christ’s gift of eternal salvation. How can anyone be thankful when we are still existing in a insane fallen world, a nightmare on par with the our circle of hell? God is asking too much.
My Brother!!! This evil world (Gal 1:4)is just a 2 hour horror movie then an eternity of bliss with the Savior. don’t look at the moment look at the forever. If you know Christ as your Savior then the joy is yours... if not well that is another animal.

My dear friend do not have a pity party have a thanksgiving party!
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. (1 Cor 2:9)
I understand where 'soothesayer' is coming from...but you are absolutely correct...we need to keep our eye on the 'prize'; as difficult as it might be. It will get worse before His return.
