Old Catholics tell Romans to ignore your bishops
Examiner.com ^ | November 16 | Rev. Mother Meredith Moise, SPSA

Posted on 11/17/2009 11:13:30 AM PST by Gamecock

The Southern Province of the North American Old Catholic Church calls on bishops of the Roman sect to abandon their devisive and hate-filled attitude toward lesbian and gay people. The Roman bishops began a meeting on Monday (11/16/2009) in Baltimore, MD, and are expected to issue a major "pastoral letter" against equal rights for gay people.

"It is like they are telling their brothers and sisters: Thou Shalt Not Love," says Archbishop Wynn Wagner, the Regionary Bishop of the Southern Province USA of the North American Old Catholic Church (NAOCC). "They have forgotten the message of love, in their rush toward a notion of post-modernism."

The North American Old Catholic Church has called the month of November a Month of Prayer for those hurt by the Roman bishops' actions. The Old Catholic Church -- being closer to the ancient teachings of Christ -- does not consider gender or sexual orientation to be an impediment to any sacrament, including ordination and marraige.

"We call on adherents of the Roman sect to ignore the pronouncements of the later-day Pharisees," the archbishop continued. "They certainly don't speak for traditional Catholicism. Remember to pray for those bishops and those they hurt."

This is getting boring.

You can't leave before the lies about Pope Benedict's late father are posted...that's like leaving Barnum and Bailey before Rosie O'Donnell's big tap-dancing number...

And the point to posting this thread is...?

The impotent fulminations of this crowd against the Catholic Church have as much chance of influencing its policies as similar fulminations would have if mouthed by members of the Cargo Cult. You do realize that, right? Who cares what these people say - about the Catholic Church or anything else. Their antics show them to be in a perpetual state of self-parody. They can go howl at the moon!

Never mind that Calvinist indoctrination gave birth to the fascist notion of world governance,

Good. We'll definitely "never mind" that idiotic statement which reveals an astounding lack of historical understanding.

Calvinists know all men are fallen. Therefore Calvinists (the majority of the signers of the Declaration of Independence) made sure there was a strong safe-guard of checks and balances within the government.

Thus we never trust one political voice unless supported by and founded on the Constitution.

Just like we never trust one man's theological position unless it is supported by and founded on Scripture.

No wonder so many RCs have fallen in line behind Ratzinger's fascist "global authority." They don't know the history of fascist repression, thus they work to repeat it.

At least I would hope this is born out of ignorance and not willful sedition. At this point, who knows?

That is a malady they share with the anti-Catholic fetishists on Free Republic.

We've all been trying to understand the purpose of this bizarre thread, perhaps you've found the nexus!

Don’t look at me if you can’t tell the difference between a robe and a skirt.

"We call on adherents of the Roman sect to ignore the pronouncements of the later-day Pharisees,"

How is that any different from the anti-Catholic rhetoric we routinely witness on this forum?

Unlike RCs on this forum who defend the indefensible fascism of Ratzinger's "global authority" encyclical, I do not defend democrat Woodrow Wilson's error regarding the League of Nations.

Really? Please cite passages as proof. Some of us haven't gotten around to reading the Encyclical yet.

Also, why so much fuss about what the "false bishop of Rome" says?

The Catholics on the forum dismissed the NAOCCs (the bishop, the female laywoman-masquerading-as-priest who wrote the article, and the rest of their ilk) as being nuts and moved on - because the NAOCC 'hierarchy' have no authority.

We'll definitely "never mind" that...

I suspect you will.

The Calvinist indoctrination of Presbyterian Woodrow Wilson (America's first fascist president) gave birth to the fascist notion of world governance. It's his baby.

He doesn't have any problem thinking that "the elect" (of course including him!) should dictate to "the reprobate"--as Calvin defines both terms.

That's what made him such a bloody good fascist. Tyrannical powers (like those claimed by Calvin at Geneva) should be in his hands. After all, HE IS ELECT!

That is a malady they share with the anti-Catholic fetishists on Free Republic. Indeed! This time, though, the usual suspects came swimming by after one of their own ignorantly chummed the waters.

You were corrected by the Religion Moderator before not to change other people's quotations.

Once again, stop changing my remarks.

I know the history of fascist repression. It was started by Presbyterian Calvinist Woodrow Wilson, here in the wartime United States.

Come on, Opus needs a new pair of shoes!

I hear Ratzinger has a closet-full of gently worn ruby red Prada slippers in size 4.

Maybe you could borrow some.
