***Busy day — just fired my spiritual director who offered no help with a family issue. She accused me of bearing false witness about my seeming irrational behavior. My wife is now my spiritual director. I dislike pastors who tear families apart for control of the soul.***
Dave; you have testified here about your behaviour. Do you not also remember 1 Timothy 2:
8
3 It is my wish, then, that in every place the men should pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or argument.
9
Similarly, (too,) women should adorn themselves with proper conduct, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hairstyles and gold ornaments, or pearls, or expensive clothes,
10
but rather, as befits women who profess reverence for God, with good deeds.
11
A woman must receive instruction silently and under complete control.
12
I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man. 4 She must be quiet.
13
For Adam was formed first, then Eve.
14
Further, Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and transgressed.
15
But she will be saved through motherhood, provided women persevere in faith and love and holiness, with self-control.
If you are seemingly irrational, it is not meet to allow your wife to be your spiritual director. I pray that you turn from Job to Paul but yet consider both. You may not be yet upon the Via of Christ.
As usual, when one puts something personal out there, you and your camp seize upon it. You have no idea what his life is like nor do you have any idea if he’s a true Christian. That’s for God to decide. Better to focus on YOUR walk with Christ than on his. God knows His own.
