Liberal and conservative Catholics alike would prefer not to discuss how the Catholic Church, here and abroad, functions like a liberal/left-wing political lobby.
Some pro-life Catholics are acting shocked that the Vatican warmly greeted the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to President Obama, who is pro-abortion. They don't seem to understand that the Vatican and Obama agree on most major international issues.
This is the untold story-how Obama and the Vatican accept major ingredients of what has been called a New World Order.
Another untold story is how, despite a disagreement over abortion, the U.S. Catholic Bishops and the Obama Administration agree on major aspects of so-called health care reform.

Decided to try out for a
finger comic job?
INDEED . . .
and that would be in the BEST light.
LOL! How people are so quick to judge others is so common in society. I remember when the Southern Baptist Convention was held in Norfolk, VA my sister’s friend worked in the nearest ABC store (VA controls hard liquor in state run stores) and he said it was the first time the store had completely sold out. Non-Catholics need to take the scales off their eyes.
I hope you get the job. I chose to disregard the question mark since I know you are so well versed and conscientious of the Religion Forum rules that you would never stoop to a personal insult by asking me that question. But, if you were into breaking rules, you can go all out try to read my mind regarding which finger I would be modeling for you.
It’s fascinating . . . how . . .
given my persistent . . . forgetfulness
or deliberate decision to
give some of the rabid RC’s and contenders for the title
YET AGAIN
ANOTHER BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT
they gleefully put on their spiked shoes, walk through a very fresh cow lot . . . and proceed with great jumping glee to jump up and down stompingly all over the
generous benefit of the doubt.
And they seem to have no clue how closely God is watching the attitude of their hearts.
LOL.
Evidently there’s not a good understanding of the rules nearabouts.
However, the charity extended is well noted.
Enjoy the harvest.
BTW, for those in Rio Linda . . .
finger comic as opposed to stand up comic . . .
most folks type with their . . . doh . . . fingers!
What a surprise!
“Yes, dear.” LOL.
Jokes really aren't very good when you have to explain them.
Where did I pretend to be a comic?
I suppose that a convention of such a large org would tax their supplies, but what is your point?
Of course there is the old joke about how Jews don't recognize Jesus as the Messiah, Protestants don't recognize the authority of the Pope, and Baptists don't recognize each other in the liquor store. Maybe since they were at an out-of-town convention there was less likelihood they would recognize each other.
Help me here. Is this potty language, a reference to potty language, or simply an acceptable impersonal insult of "RC's"? I just need to calibrate my postings and responses.
Don't go putting words into my mouth. I never said anything about pretending.
Just switch out the RC for another denomination...say...Pentecostal...and see how well it goes over. :)
Awwwwwwww
That overflowing graciousness flooding all about AGAIN!
LOL.
I am not going to take your suggestion to substitute another religion or denomination because I don't want to be insulting, insensitive or banned.
I have tried to make it known to the Religion Moderator that the term "RC" is a very derogatory and insultimg term for Roman Catholics on par with the "N" word, but have not gotten any acknowledgment or response other than expect to be insulted in an open forum.
The history of it is deeply seated in British (Protestant) oppression of Scotland, Ireland and its own Catholic population. Its use was made popular because of its similar pronunciation to the word "arse" and the two were (are) used interchangeably. Is it "potty language"? - YES. Is it personally insulting? - YES. Is it acceptable on FR - YES, as long as the precedent is limited to "RCs".
This post seems to be far more about me than about Vatican Doctrine.
I wonder if those guys always droning on and on about Mary and her intercession are going to chime in here with their flowerly langauge to tell us how we’re all wrong, and then post writeups about various saints?
Hey, Pentecostals have been the major whipping post around these and other parts for decades.
Our thick skins are in good practice.
Don’t know why it seems like so many RC’s have genetically thin skins. One of those things, I guess.
. . . mabye because they are so used to being IN CONTROL as a major theme of the Institution??? Interesting psychological, sociological question.
