Looooooooot of errors in this article.

“And, I might add, the early church Fathers knew nothing of the “rapture.”

I suppose it’s because the failed to read the Scriptures.

“For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18Therefore encourage one another with these words.”

Inconvenient as some may find them, the Scriptures do have a way of busting up creaky traditions.

“I suppose it’s because the failed to read the Scriptures.”

No. The Eastern Fathers read them and understood them so well that Revelation, a particular literary type common in the Hellenistic Jewish world until about 150 AD, wasn’t accepted as part of the canon of the NT until about the 8th century and even then as part of an old deal with the West involving the Letter to the Hebrews. Then and now Revelation is consigned to a dusty back shelf and is never used liturgically in Eastern Christian churches.

More likely that you haven't read the Church Fathers.

"I suppose it’s because the failed to read the Scriptures."

"Scriptures" are what fundamentalist dispensationalists think Scofield's notes are. :)

**I suppose it’s because the failed to read the Scriptures.**

Catholics DO read the Scriptures. I am helping to lead a Scripture study right now on Galatians and Romans.

Where are you getting this misleading information??

No reason to continue your mantra about Catholics not reading the Scriptures.

Scripture clearly tells us about the end times. No one, but God knows the day, time, year! So be prepared now and repent!

That says nothing about any pre-trib "secret" rapture. Did you miss this part:

And the dead in Christ will rise first.

This follows the resurrection of the dead and immediately precedes the General Judgement on the Last Day.

The fathers knew the Scriptures better than either you or I do. In some cases, they personally knew the human authors of Scripture.
