WONDERS OF WONDERS ARE IN MY NAME " JESUS " !
The Joshua Chronicles ^ | Jedediah

Posted on 10/12/2009 11:11:44 AM PDT by Jedediah

There is a storm brewing and this storm shall not stop or deviate from its path and the name of this storm is " Righteousness " " for my name's sake " !

My name is on my priests as a placard upon their foreheads and I shall not be defamed !

Therefore now I shall work my outstretched arm over the nations to perform this " My Will ", for The Father has said "This is my Son in whom I am well pleased !" .

So watch now as I " well up " in my children yeah ! sing about it even now for soon you shall see the fruit of my ways and as it bears forth you shall know it is of Me for it shall be glorious as it performs my word , yeah ! every jot and tittle . Behold the glory of the latter house shall be great !

Oh wonder of wonders are in my very name !

Genesis 14:18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

Exodus 28:36-38

36 “You shall also make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it, like the engraving of a signet:

HOLINESS TO THE LORD.

37 And you shall put it on a blue cord, that it may be on the turban; it shall be on the front of the turban. 38 So it shall be on Aaron’s forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things which the children of Israel hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall always be on his forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD.

Isaiah 11:5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Isaiah 53:1 1Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

Isaiah 59:16-19

16And He saw that there was no man and wondered that there was no intercessor [no one to intervene on behalf of truth and right]; therefore His own arm brought Him victory, and His own righteousness [having the Spirit without measure] sustained Him.

17For [the Lord] put on righteousness as a breastplate or coat of mail, and salvation as a helmet upon His head; He put on garments of vengeance for clothing and was clad with zeal [and furious divine jealousy] as a cloak.

18According as their deeds deserve, so will He repay wrath to His adversaries, recompense to His enemies; on the foreign islands and coastlands He will make compensation.

19So [as the result of the Messiah's intervention] they shall [reverently] fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight [for He will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives .

Haggai 2:9

'The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,' says the LORD of hosts, 'and in this place I will give peace,' declares the LORD of hosts."

So you believe God is on tap, to support a school of prophets? No wonder there were so many false prophets in Israel! And no wonder they are around now!

I am simply relying upon the Scripture.

Samuel joined with a company of prophets, including musicians and disciples (apprentices) I Sam 10:5+

When Jezebel was killing the Lord's prophets, Obediah hid 100 of them in caves 1 Kings 18:4

Elisha lived in a common house with the "sons of the prophets" 2 Kings 6:1+

And prophets were speaking by the Spirit in Antioch in Acts 11:27

Look at Acts 13:1... Prophets and teachers under the direct command of the Holy Spirit

I could go on, but this is enough to show that the office of the prophet did not pass away, nor was it merely a "few" (16 or so). And I doubt any of the detractors here would call those prophets mentioned here, and those in their company false prophets.

And YES. I do believe the Spirit is on tap. In fact, I know it.

You know these characters aren’t interested in BIBLICAL FACTS.

That seems to be the point of disagreement, doesn't it?

any Apostles EVER refused to preach to those who did not believe?

Yes.

Act 19:8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.
Act 19:9 But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

This group is very odd.

Funny how I had the same feeling, but the other way around...

[...] what it is that Paul describes as prophecy:

If Paul had meant something else, he would have used a different word.

Prophesy:
προφητεύω
prophēteuō
prof-ate-yoo'-o
From G4396; to foretell events, divine, speak under
inspiration, exercise the prophetic office: - prophesy.

Ref:Strongs Concordance (KJV)

There are probably 3-4 prophets per congregation, and possibly more - after all, if one lets 2-3 speak, and other weigh what is said, then the minimum would be 3-4. Per congregation.

Okay... But that was in a time when prophets were accepted, and when the Spirit was accepted. Did you miss the part about the whole congregation speaking in tongues, and the whole congregation prophesying? Hmmm... That part doesn't sound so much like any mainstream church I heard of... But it does sound a whole lot like the Spirit coming down upon the whole house.

If I am right, and this office describes preaching the word of God, then I’ve seen this many times.

Except for one problem:

1Co 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
1Co 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

The prophets are those endowed with knowledge and revelation. As the Prophecy unrolls it is the prophets who see (though through a veil), and acknowledge the passing milestones. It has also been the prophets who have pronounced God's favor and disfavor upon cities and nations, and have been the bearer of warnings of impending doom.

Unless it is your argument that the New Testament Scripture is the "perfect" that "does away" with the prophesying, it must still serve it's purpose. In fact, since that seems to be your argument, I find it horribly flawed, as without prophets to reveal the New Covenant prophecies, the Church is flying blind, and has been for many, many years.

If all that has been reduced to a mere "word of knowledge" about whether or not someone should make a purchase, or some such nonsense, then the coming of Christ performed the exact reverse of the Pentecostal promise:

Joe 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

This verse, by the way, directly ties the Old Testament word for "prophesy" (naw-baw') directly to the New Testament word thereof (propheteuo - see Acts 2:17).

Of course, if you are right, then you have enough folks wandering around in secret to support a single congregation in one meeting.

If I am right (which I know I am), It speaks to the nakedness of the visible Church today - and the literal blindness - Relying on the baptism of water, when they should be looking for the baptism of the Spirit

Note that I do not mean to disparage the "word of knowledge". That such is recognized within your Church is a very good thing, and it is a worthy thing to defend. Many denominations would call even that "crazy".

My testimony regards the true and real power of the Holy Spirit. Real miracles. Real prophecy. Real foreknowledge and revelation. Real healing. Tongues and interpretation.

These were promised to the Church. Where are they?

The group in Act 19 WERE believers and then they renounced their faith, big difference.

"Did you miss the part about the whole congregation speaking in tongues, and the whole congregation prophesying?"

Guess I did, since I read, "When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up."

The teaching to Corinth came because they were going bonkers over gifts. They sought the spectacular gifts for their own show.

Have I ever spoken in tongues. Yes and no. I did, but it wasn't from God but from my flesh. It was sin and rebellion, not submission to God.

Have I seen congregations where everyone was speaking in tongues? Well, I've been in congregations where there was a lot of noise, but I saw no sign that their 'tongues' were any more true to scripture and God than 'mine' were.

"1Co 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 1Co 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

The prophets are those endowed with knowledge and revelation. As the Prophecy unrolls it is the prophets who see (though through a veil), and acknowledge the passing milestones. No, the prophets were given revelation. And in the early days of the church, with no New Testament and probably not a lot of Old Testaments in the hands of believers, that revelation was critical. With people claiming that grace made 'free sin' possible, someone needed to counteract it - and needed to do so, in many cases, without scripture available to them.

That day has passed. I have 'God-breathed' revelation on my shelves, and it is "able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus", and is useful to "thoroughly equip" "the man of God" "for every good work." - 2 Tim 3

Where would I expect to find modern day prophets? In places scripture is not available.

"the Church is flying blind, and has been for many, many years".

You seem to have little regard for the power of God. The church is the body of Christ, and Christ is its Head. Do you REALLY think Jesus has been defeated?

The gifts of the Spirit are GIFTS, which are given by the Holy Spirit! Where is your faith? Do you believe Satan has hog-tied the Holy Spirit? Do you believe Satan has defeated Jesus Christ?

Because that is the inescapable conclusion of what you wrote.

Do you think the Southern Baptist Convention can overpower God, and prevent the Holy Spirit from giving someone the gift of prophecy? I've argued a fair bit with Catholics, but do you really believe, in the darkest days of the Catholic Church, when there were a string of Godless men as Popes, and indulgences were for public sale, do you REALLY believe no one was faithful? That God had been utterly defeated?

I don't. Remember Elijah? "I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too." - 1 Kings 19 But God said, "Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel—all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and all whose mouths have not kissed him."

God has never been defeated. Satan doesn't have Him in a headlock. The Spirit moves as He wills, and gives the gifts He chooses when and where He wills.

If you read the Old Testament, you will realize that miracles and prophets were NOT evenly distributed. At times they were common, and at times they were not. There were no prophets during the 400 years before Christ's incarnation.

I'm enough of a Calvinist to believe in the sovereignty of God. If God wants me to work a miracle, I will. If he wants me to speak in tongues, I will. If he doesn't, then only sinful pride would lead me to imitate it.

You want to know why there aren't more miracle workers walking the streets? Ask God. He is the one who decides.

Not you. Buck up, and strengthen your faith. God hasn't lost squat to anyone.

Excellent post!

St. Paul never actually defines speaking in tongues. But he does write about speaking in the “tongue of angels.” Now, when an angel speaking to a person, they are understood by the person they are speaking to; THIS is the “tongue of angels” the person who is listening understands the angel in their own language.

This is DEMONSTRATED in chapter 2 of the Acts of the Apostles when those who are gathered understand what St. Peter is saying to them. This is the gift of tongues, it is when the Holy Spirit reverses the barriers put up at the the Tower of Babel, this was necessary to spread the Gospel. The notion that we need to “speak in tongues” to pray to God is simply absurd and totally unsubstantiated in Scripture.

I gather you’ve never been in a service where

THE GLORY FELL . . .

where God moved in

in a tangible PRESENCE

wherein a heavenly interweaving of independent yet harmonious melodies spontaneously sprung out from various spots in the congregation a . . . and shortly it seemed as though literally angels joined in the building symphony of worship . . . usually in tongues but not always and sometimes mixed.

Stay tuned . . .

God is going to show forth Himself and His Gifts in ways unprecedented even 2,000 years ago.

Sounds like a personal experience was flawed.

So . . . the theology has been adjusted to fit the flawed experience.

Thankfully, those with authentic intense experiences of Holy Spirit never need to be the least bit hindered by merely an argument of the clueless and inexperienced.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

what a fascinating set of ASSUMPTIONS.

. . . yet again . . . evidently from gross inexperience.

I suspect the dear Brothers at the

Pecos, NM retreat center would differ with those assumptions.

“Thankfully, those with authentic intense experiences of Holy Spirit never need to be the least bit hindered by merely an argument of the clueless and inexperienced.”

I’ve had 35+ years knowing God. I know his voice, and he doesn’t sound ANYTHING like ‘Jedediah’.

Feel free to explain these ‘prophecies’ and how they align with God’s Word...but then, I’ve been asking for that for days, and all you reply is that I and others are unworthy.

Do you deny I’m a Christian?

Perhaps you’ll share with me how you believe someone becomes a Christian...or am I unworthy of that as well? What is the Gospel Quix preaches?

Perhaps Jedediah will share from his Prophetic Office how one becomes a Christian.

If someone hasn’t spoken in tongues, can they still be filled with the Spirit? What do you believe being filled with the Spirit means?

Do you believe the church has wandered for hundreds of years with no guidance from God? Do you believe each congregation should have 4-5 or more prophets, each giving a prophecy at church meetings?

Who are the Prophets in your church? What are their names? Have you copied down their revelations, to share with others? Or are they just for you and your very select few?

Or are all these questions too much bother for someone too filled with the Spirit to bother with unbelieving, “clueless and inexperienced” folk like myself?

I am becoming increasingly convinced, and believe me I do not say this lightly because I am fully aware that similar things have been said about the Catholic Church on this forum, that there are a few lost souls on here who have actually succumbed to a satanic cult.

But for the record, there have been more than a few non-Catholics on these threads who also think this is blasphemy.
