“Here’s a question. Did God fertilize Mary’s egg or was Jesus implanted whole? Is there a Biblical answer? Does it matter?
It absolutely matters!
Mary is the biological mother of Christ.
He is called the seed of the woman. He is therefore Son of God and Son of Man.
The very identity and work of the Christ is abrogated if you deny the Biblical teaching of the incarnation.
The way I look at it, God knows the DNA of all people. He could have implanted the DNA to be Mary AND Joseph’s biological son. As you know, the bible uses Joseph’s lineage as proof that Jesus descended from the line of David, also.
The important part is that Jesus was born of immaculate conception (by whatever mechanism that God chose), and that he is of the line of David.
