That, if you can influence enough people, might actually make a difference and Rome will stop lusting after the Orthodox Church. We’ll make it alone, we always have. Rome needs us a lot more than we need Rome

Rome doesn't "need" you at all.

What both Rome and Constantinople "need" is to obey the Lord's clear command in John 17:20-23. No amount of pride can justify doing otherwise.
