"Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ"

that is a bit harsh...my little children know God and his Son in special ways that are only relics now in my old mind but they know very little scripture

most folks I know who can quote the Bible real well I keep an eye on....

However, to avoid falling into individualism, we must bear in mind that the Word of God has been given to us precisely in order to build communion and to join forces in the truth on our journey towards God.

Interesting... I wonder which verses were used for that conclusion?

The majority of Catholics I know are oblivious to the Bible or the Christ of the Holy Scripture's including myself as a young Man. It wasn't until I was 22 that I started to study the Holy Scriptures that I saw how oblivious I was to the realities and truths of God's Holy Word.

Not to start a Theology war..but The majority of Catholic traditions contradicted the simple teachings of the Scriptures. Tradition is held in higher esteem then God's Holy Word.

That there is a shame. Thanks, I truly love that Quote. It is absolutely true! Amen!! I.F. http://www.theignorantfishermen.com/2009/03/why-call-me-lord-lord-and-do-not-things_31.html
