I always try to ‘cut to the chase’ as it were.
A synopsis can get to the heart of a matter - while the full definition can explain in detail.
Similar to the Apostles or Nicean creed - it culls the very fundamentals of belief down to a thing that can be grasped fairly easily.
Millions are not grasping!
