Record-breaking fall campaign
September 23November 1
 |
Get ready for the largest, most widespread coordinated pro-life outreach ever!
More than 200 cities in 45 American states, 5 Canadian provinces ... plus Denmark ... are poised to launch 40 Days for Life campaigns.
|
"There will be campaigns in at least 212 communites," said David Bereit, 40 Days for Life's national director. "Last fall's campaign was conducted in 177 cities. This shows that support for the pro-life message is spreading and that 40 Days for Life continues to have a positive international impact."
The list of fall locations is now available. Please check it, see if your city is listed, and click on the city's link for additional information about your local 40 Days for Life campaign.
Please be sure to use the box at the upper right to receive updates about how you can get involved in this prayerful outreach. Facebook member? Check out the official 40 Days for Life group.

We are going to start signing people up at our church next week.
Any others joining?
I think this year, according to the chair at my church, the emphasis is going to be for ALL Christians to join in prayer in front of Planned Parenthood Clinics.
A person can sit in their car across the street and pray if they feel uncomfortable in front of the PP clinic. Or you can pray at home. Just join this campaign in some way!
Please consider it.

Thanks for the post, Salvation. It is way past time for Americans to stand up against the horrors of abortion. The precious, innocent unborn have no voice and no way to defend themselves. Please join us in taking a stand for these beautiful babies that God has created in love.

That’s great. All the churches in our vicariate/deanery are in for it too.

Salvation,
I participate in this every year, along with my husband and children.
I have an FYI relevant to Florida pro lifers that needs attention and awareness. There is a group that is working on getting an amendment on the Florida constitution that grants personhood to everyone at the moment of conception. This would effectively ban abortion in the state. It is just gearing up now. I heard it on the news a couple days ago. This is my new mission. I believe it is also being put forth in a few other states, I remember Georgia for sure, but not sure about the rest of them.
It is long past time to get this initiative on a ballot and into the states constitutions. I hope this movement will be brought up at the 40 days for life movements in all states so that the states without the initiative can pray for our success and spread the word among participants that we are on the march! No other rights matter without the right to LIFE!!

I got this email this week. BTW, we need someone to post a Daily 40 Days for Life on the Religion Forum. Faith is going to do it on the News forum. Thank you, Faith. I pray that someone steps up to do this.
One week from today, on Wednesday, September 23, the
largest 40 Days for Life campaign in history launches
in 212 cities across 45 American states, 5 Canadian
provinces, and Denmark.
For 40 intense days, tens of thousands of faithful
volunteers will be praying, fasting, holding peaceful
vigils outside abortion facilities, and spreading the
pro-life message through community outreach.
Participation in 40 Days for Life is not always easy
and can involve sacrifice.
So why are you and I about to do this?
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so take
a moment -- right now -- to look at the picture at:

That's Baby David (don't you love his name? :-)
Last fall, on the third day of the 40 Days for Life
prayer vigil in Sarasota, Florida, a nervous Hispanic
woman went to the local Planned Parenthood abortion
center with her mother and brother.
The 40 Days for Life prayer volunteers offered her
literature, but she didn't understand their English.
When a bilingual counselor arrived, she learned that
the woman was in her 14th week of pregnancy and she
was seeking a second-trimester abortion.
The counselor instead offered real help to get her to
one of the local pregnancy resource centers.
As a result, she chose life for her baby.
When asked why she changed her mind and decided not to
abort, the woman's answer was, "Because you were here.
I was looking for a sign from God."
Throughout the remainder of her pregnancy, many
volunteers helped her and her family with various
needs, including spiritual and financial support.
Then, on March 25 of this year, 6-pound, 6-ounce baby
David made his entrance into the world -- where he was
greeted by many of the dedicated volunteers and new
found friends who have continued their faith journey
with his mother and family.
A baby saved from abortion. A mother spared from a
life of regrets.
That is why we do what we do.
This story represents just one of the 1,561 lives that
have been spared from abortion due to 40 Days for Life
campaigns over the last two years.
As you pray, fast, stand vigil, and conduct outreach
during 40 Days for Life from September 23 through
November 1, know that YOUR efforts could help to save
the life of a child -- like David -- and could protect
a mother from making a tragic abortion decision.

Our job is not to perform miracles. Miracles are God’s business. Our job is to be obedient and to pray. This is how the Lord has ordained that His very best be brought to any situation to which we invite Him. He hears and responds to our prayers. May the prayers of this nation bring down God’s protection and finest blessings upon every unborn baby; and may our hearts cry out for the sanctity of life to be recognized and valued by our judges, legislators, executive branch, and voters.

Thanks for your encouragement, Faith.
40 Days for Life starts tomorrow.
Could a volunteer step forward to post it in the Religion Forum?
