Would you like to see a Catholic priest challenge chef Bobby Flay to a fajita cook-off?
Tune into Food Networks Throwdown! With Bobby Flay tonight at 9 p.m. Eastern to see Father Leo Patalinghug take on the Iron Chef.
Father Patalinghug, who serves as director of pastoral field education for the seminary at Mount St. Marys University in Emmitsburg, Md., has a ministry called Grace Before Meals, which is dedicated to fostering stronger communities through stronger families, one meal at a time.
With God as my witness, Im not afraid! Bring your fajitas; lets throw down! he exclaimed when Flay issued the challenge in June.
I went mano a mano with an Iron Chef. It was a phenomenal experience, the priest-chef told the Registers Amy Smith for her article Catholics in the Kitchen.
We know well be watching to see who wins!
Go Fr. Leo!
Thanks...I’d rather watch this than politics.
We’re on vacation in a rental house with cable, so we’ll be able to watch it. Fr. Leo is such a cutie, wonderful Marian spirituality. He’s been at our Diocesan Eucharistic Conference for several years.
Yes, I saw a preview on Food Netword, and saw “Grace” plastered upon The Father’s aprin, and I knew he was a Christian. Cool. I will try to watch!
WooHooo bump.Father Leo,Father Leo :)
Did Bobby Fray dance on the countertop?
Evidently on the Food Channel this evening, 9 to 9:30 PM.
Father Leo wins. Fun show.
I was at choir practice. How did it go?
It looked like good food, in a “guess I won’t go to Weight Watchers this week after all” sort of way. Bobby Flay made a puree of avocado with sour cream as a garnish, which seemed like a really good idea to me.
Wow, that IS a good idea! Love avocado, and REALLY love sour cream!
I have a pumpkin soup recipe that includes pureed apples, and has sour cream mixed with lime juice as garnish.
