The Catholic Church teaches many things contrary to scripture. Yes, I’ve had many lecture me on making my own interpretation of scripture - something Augustine understood, BTW, since he wrote 4 books on how to do it - but I’ll take my chances staying true to scripture.

Purgatory denies the power of God and the completeness of the sacrifice of Jesus.

Indulgences are simply obscene, and Mariology - the very fact that such a term exists - is blasphemy as well. There are some things I can compromise on, but treating the created like the Creator is not one of them!

Based on your many posts alon, I would say that your misunderstanding of it seems to do so, but Purgatory itself is part of His Truth.

There are some things I can compromise on, but treating the created like the Creator is not one of them!

The Catholic Church doesn't do that. Your dispute is with those who lie about the Catholic Church and her teachings.

Nope.

The Catholic Church teaches many things contrary to your own personal interpretation of Scripture.

So what?

Making restitution for sins is obscene?

God leaves nothing to chance.

***Purgatory denies the power of God and the completeness of the sacrifice of Jesus.***

How?

***Indulgences are simply obscene***

Do you know the definition of obscene?

***and Mariology - the very fact that such a term exists - is blasphemy as well.***

Interesting. Do you know what Mariology consists of?

***There are some things I can compromise on, but treating the created like the Creator is not one of them!***

The Bible is created; if I recall correctly from your posts, you come very close to worshipping the Bible. That is called Bibliolatry and it is normally accompanied by a complete misunderstanding of its contents.

Theres a 100 reasons why you can point to the Bible and
find Catholicism is wrong. I believed and was taught so.
Its not until I investigated Catholicism on all these points
and read its defense against these things on a Sola Scriptura
basis that I found the Catholic Church was hitting em out of the park on 90-95 of the issues. From a Sola Scriptura basis the evidence of Purgortory is fairly weak as opposed to strong. But for the hard 2-3 items or more, I know knew whose
views were more encompassing of the Bible, its bible verse explanations were more encompossasing of the surrounding text, and the explanations didnt depend on ignoring some other relevant verses. I converted to Catholicism. I found it amazing how Gods Truth was so well hidden and how the cultural protestant bias of American society keeps us from examining more deeply the Catholic Church and what it teaches as opposed to what other denominations say about it. There is alot of what amounts to false propaganda out there about the Catholic Church. It seems many sense that such an enemy needs to be defeated and beaten with any stick available, even if such stick is not a ‘truth stick’.

I'm gonna hate myself in the morning, especially when the falsehoods about mariology are a clear indication that truth doesn't really apply here, but could you develop this:
Purgatory denies the power of God and the completeness of the sacrifice of Jesus.

Mariology = "discourse about Mary", or "account of Mary" -- generally "conversation about Mary's role, if any, in salvation." How the existence or use of the term could be blasphemous escapes me. To say, "Mary has no role in salvation," is to engage in Mariology.

I can handle your own personal interpretation of Scripture, but your own personal interpretation of English and your own personal interpretation of what the Church teaches ... well it's that kind of nonsense that has led me to back off from conversations here.

So many of the protestant attacks begin with erecting a straw man that after a while I wonder whether there is any interest in truth at all. Certainly, when the argument begins with falsehood and relies on bullying, insult, and perseveration the natural conclusion is that even if the antagonist believes there is a truth, he doesn't much believe in the Truth's power to vindicate Himself.
