Joseph Smith died as a martyr. Tyrants now fight him in vain.
I recently visited Carthage Jail and saw the very door with bullet holes where the blood of the Prophet and his brother was spilled. Hyram was shot in the face. Joseph Smith and his brother were murdered in cold blood. There is no spinning it.

How Carthage came about.

Smith was no "martyr" but a treasonous crook who died in a shoot-out.

Joseph Smith and his brother were murdered in cold blood. You cannot re-write history.

Ever since he was 14 years of age, Joseph Smith was maligned, hated, and persecuted - even to this very day. Even his murder did not stop them.

Keep making my point. If he were inconsequential as you claim, your feathers wouldn’t be so ruffled.

Mormons are Christians on steroids.

I actually took a U.S. History II college class and your version of what happened to the early Mormons is not historically accurate. It is a fact that there was an extermination order. It is a fact that Nauvoo was the largest city in Illinois and that Mormon persecution continued until finally they had to leave and head west to escape persecution. This was about the same time the Indian “Trail of Tears” was taking place. At Nauvoo, they call it the “Trail of Hope” since it was the beginning of escape from terror and persecution at the hands of blood-thirsty Mormon hating mobs.

When you walk down the “Trail of Hope” today in Nauvoo and look back at the beautiful Temple, the Holy Ghost overwhelms your heart with love and appreciation for the Savior and His Church and for the early Saints who suffered so much, some even unto death.

I am proud of my Church’s history and I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

As an American who loves the conswtitution I’d be mad at joey smith too...

Especially when as mayor he called out his goons and announced martial law...

Which means me and everyone else in town was under house arrest...

and his goons were free to violate my 4th Amendment rights...
