The law of tithing is the means by which the Lord's work is funded.
Today, all faithful members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints contribute one tenth of their income as tithing to contribute to the growth of the kingdom of God, including:
Constructing temples, chapels, and other buildings.
Providing operating funds for the Church.
Funding the missionary program.
Preparing materials used in Church classes and organizations.
Performing temple work, family history, and many other important Church functions.
Education.
I am not seeing anything on this list for taking care of the widows and orphans.

No theres no mention of care for the widows and orphans...
after all if ya dont tithe, ya dont get salvation...
and if ya dont tithe ya must be an apostate...
I havent seen any Bible scripture about so called “temple work AKA dead dunking or family histories being the work of the Church...
Jesus said that the Church was to...
Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:19, 20
Nope nothing about do some genealogy...
In fact Jesus said
“Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:60
