Exactly. If Rome really hated abortion it would excommunicate Pelosi, Biden, etc.
But it doesn't. It chooses to remain silent on that score while loudly trashing capitalism and a free society founded on the Protestant work ethic and Christian charity.
If mainstream protestantism really hated abortion it would condemn use of the IUD (always an abortifacient) and the pill (sometimes an abortifacient).
As many RC FReepers have said. I stand with them on that and condemn any in my church that would not call out any Evangelical politicians that do the same.
It chooses to remain silent on that score while loudly trashing capitalism and a free society founded on the Protestant work ethic and Christian charity.
I think this is a product of history. It is going to take a real leader to change this mind set. I don't think we will ever see that because of the organizational structure.
The truth of history is hard to refute. When people are free and allowed to profit from their endeavors everyone flourishes. When a structure is put in place to "redistribute" those profits for "everyones benefit" all except those at the top suffer.
I sincerely hope you're just trash-talking here, Doc.
If I thought for a moment that you truly believed the Catholic Church has no problem with abortion, I'd be concerned.
Reasonable people know the Church's position. You're doing yourself no favors here.
