Is it right to pray that Trig Palin be healed of his Down Syndrome? Many parents of children with Down Syndrome think it's a horrible thing to do.

Yes a true ‘Throw Away’ society.

There isn’t any cure for genetic disorders and praying for one is basically wasting God’s time.

To suggest that prayer to God is a "waste of God's time" is, IMO blasphemy. God is not bound by time, nor is he annoyed with our prayers, no matter how stupid they may seem to others.

Pray instead that we be healed.

Those who believe it wrong to pray for Down’s Syndrome children are the nuts in question. It sounds like a form of insanity they are in the grip of.

Spare us that kind of “luck”. Is it luck to have to be watched over by caring adults or to be at the mercy of the predators among mankind should he get outside that watching?

Excellent post! Pray for relief and comfort, but above all pray for acceptance of God’s will.

Like I said, it's just a belief that I have come to after 42 years on this floating rock

I appreciate that belief and it gives ME hope.........

If I only lived as good a Christian life as I write, LOL! I can write about faith ‘til the cows come home, but walking in faith is hard. This is why Palin humbles and amazes me.

Unfortunately, those caring watchers cannot always be there.
Childlike adults are at the mercy of the hostile world far more than those with fully developed faculties. There is nothing lucky about this situation including the decreased lifespans, associated diseases, inability to live autonomously.

No person should feel that they always must live up to their highest aspirations, it is sufficient, IMHO, to do your best, then try harder. Only Christ was perfect, and He Himself was tempted by weakness in the face of the worst.

Only by the grace of God were my children born normal as well as me.. The children daughter and SIL adopted two boys and only as the grew to be active, to crawl, etc. did we learn they are OK but our love for a child in any condition is the Christian thing to do.

Exactly. Healing may not necessarily take the form of a cure. Still, we always pray for healing.
