It is true that worship is one of the most fulfilling aspects of an individuals life as well as an integral part of family living. But real worship must go beyond prayer and recognition. It must be a sincere desire to connect with our Creator.
On the simplest level, one wouldnt greet a member of their favorite sports team and present them with the jersey of an opposing team. One would not go to the White House to ask a favor of a Democratic president and begin their supplication by telling the President what a great Republican they are, or vice versa. The same holds infinitely more true when giving supplication to the Almighty, to the King of Kings, who is all powerful and who can bring blessing, healing and salvation in every aspect of ones life.
Worship, if it is to have true ramifications and if it is done sincerely, must have an effect on the lives of the worshipers. This is because worship is first and foremost a resolution to connect with the Almighty and to fulfill the will of God. This being the case, the need to pray with a congregation whose focus is on following the will of God, and thereby connecting with the Almighty, is the most important factor when choosing a congregation.
Gods will is not obscure. The Almighty put it in a book and made it crystal clear. Following Gods will is the right thing to do. It is a conduit for all blessings, it brings eternal life and it is relatively simple.

I agree whole-heartedly!
A LOT of the church today is all about what WE want in a church. Nobody seems to care what God might possibly want. It’s rough.
Well said!
I think that is true of most churches now. Very tragic. There will be a lot of surprised people on Judgment Day.
Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret. But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God. Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge. But if anything is revealed to another who sits by, let the first keep silent. For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged. And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.
Let me channel a liberal for you:
“Of course, we all have to find a church that suits our beliefs, so we can pretend that God is who we want Him to be . . . isn’t that the way it works?
“Wait, we have to worship God for who HE is, not who we WANT Him to be?
“That’s not fair!!”
Yes ! Amen Sister Leah
“There will be a lot of surprised people on Judgment Day.”
I agree wholeheartedly. But I think the surprise is going to be over how large a net the Lord has cast. We’re real good at identifying who we’d put in the ‘depart from me I never knew you’ segment of society and the church; but the real shocker is for the ‘when did I do that for you’ group.
