“Lead, kindly Light, amid the encircling gloom,/ Lead thou me on;/ The night is dark, and I am far from home,/ Lead thou me on.”

"Fear not that thy life shall come to an end, but rather that it shall ever have a beginning."

"Nothing is more common than for men to think that because they are familiar with words they understand the ideas they stand for."

“Growth is the only evidence of life.”

a miracle which came about as a result of praying to the Cardinal.

This protestant has been told that catholics do NOT pray "TO" saints. What's the real truth?

This is nice to hear. I got a first edition of “Apologia Pro Vita Sua” about a decade ago. It was such a beautiful bound book I almost felt bad opening it up and reading it. I’ve been meaning to read “Grammar of Assent” when I get the time. Newman has a clear lucid style that is an easy read.
