Victory for ‘Anti-Catholic Al’

Al Franken (Reuters)Al Franken, the Democratic comedian-turned-politician who has a long history of anti-Catholic diatribes, was today declared the winner of the disputed 2008 U.S. Senate race in Minnesota by the state’s Supreme Court.

Following the decision, incumbent Republican Sen. Norm Coleman conceded defeat, CNN reported.

Franken’s victory leaves the Democrats poised to assume a filibuster-proof 60-seat majority in the Senate.

Here is a sampling of Franken’s virulent anti-Catholicism:

He has mocked the Eucharist;

He has ridiculed the crucifixion of Jesus;

He has slandered all priests as molesters;

He has belittled practicing Catholics (e.g., Knights of Columbus);

He has disparaged the Church’s teaching on embryonic stem cell research;

He made crude jokes about a dying woman, Terri Schiavo, and then misrepresented her condition by passing her off as already dead. http://www.catholicleague.org/release.php?id=1506

I would be ashamed of myself if I had to vote for this loser.

What’s wrong with the people in Minnesota.

He’s a liberal. Therefore, by definition, he’s anti-Catholic.

“But what about all those Catholic liberals?”

They have obviously either been poorly catechized or have a case of self-loathing. (Just like Jews who support B.O.)

This scumbag twit shouldn’t be allowed to represent a backed-up toilet.

The rest of the country says thanks to MN for foisting this slanty eyed piece of commie trash on us. Are you people either that liberal, or that retarded?

And one other thing. Franken’s wife is ugly as hell.

“But Franken saves his sharpest barbs for those weirdos, Catholics.

In 2006, he and a guest on his Air America radio show joked about Eucharistic communion wafers — sacred to Catholics as the body of Christ — and compared them to chips and guacamole. In “Dog Confessional,” a proposed sketch for Saturday Night Live, Franken depicted “a series of dogs, played by cast members, confessing to a priest,” according to the Washington Post. NBC refused to air it.

In another book, Franken described greeting a New York audience with the words, “Isn’t Cardinal O’Connor an asshole?”

Franken’s campaign did not return a phone call seeking comment.

If a 12-year-old kid spouted this stuff in a schoolyard, he’d be hauled to the principal’s office and told to grow up. But in today’s surreal political climate, a guy who lobs insults like these has a shot at one the highest political offices in the land.”

We expect more from our kids than we do from those we put in office. There’s a huge problem, not only Minnesota, but the whole country. The leftie MSM ensures regular people don’t get to know about any of the lefts murky past. In this case Franken was portrayed as just a nice funny guy from SNL.

I know what kind of a creep Franken is, so happily I have never watched, read or heard him. Why would anyone waste their time?

You are right though, we expect more from our kids than we do from our politicians. It's time we change that.

Character is all that matters. Anybody can succumb to weakness and character flaws. It's the admission, disclosure and recovery that matters to me

Especially since Minnesota has a large Catholic population, especially around the St. Cloud area. Maybe many of them are CINOs.

Character wherever applied always separates the wheat from the chaff.

You may be right, but as I’ve already pointed out, most people don’t know this cretin’s past because the slimes in the MSM don’t disclose it. The majority of Catholics are registered Democrats because of social justice (not a bad thing if discerned correctly) and if they don’t know about the individual whose running they just do what they usually do and vote their party. IMO, all Catholics who voted for Obama aren’t CINO’s.

Please. It's not Al Franken, it's Al "Thief" Franken. For the rest of his days in the Senate. If I lived in Minnesota that's what I'd shout at his sorry butt any time I saw him in public or called his office. Thief.

Franken is what he is. Just like Obama.

The issue is not Franken, it's us. Americans.

We elect these worthless pieces of humanity to high office. Their presence in Washington is an indictment on us, including and especially Catholics.

I have no idea about the CINO part, but if they did vote for him I bet they will soon change their minds.

In Franken’s world, God has a mouth as foul as Franken’s. In one book, he has God refer to books about liberal media bias as “total bullshit.” Later, he describes God as having his head “up his ass.”

But Franken saves his sharpest barbs for those weirdos, Catholics.
