Signs are evident we are living in a spiritually prophetic age. Many have deep seated questions about our times and are frantically searching for answers wherever they can to find them. Intellectuals are turning to lost civilizations like the Mayans and the ambiguous predictions of Nostradamus to satisfy a need for truth. Theyve even dug up some of old Merlins psychic prophesies to learn what he said about the end of the world we wont repeat them here. Their conclusion after gathering all the prophetic material: All sources agree, the world will end in 2012. It cant be a coincidence after all, since so many diviners, psychics from barbaric primitive times agree. If the world is going to end in just three years from now, why should we be worried about global warming? Why worry about saving the economy? Think!

Good words. Thanks for the ping, Chappy!
If it is, then with my luck I’m going to win the Mega Millions Lottery on December 20...
Maybe it’s a last chance. Either we shape up or God gives up.
For the past billion years (and over two hundred in this country alone) God has given mankind one thing after another, nonstop.
For the past 60-70 years we’ve been throwing all He gives in His face and then some. He’s given chance after chance after chance for us to do right and we’ve squandered it.
I’m really gonna be steamed if it pre-empts the NFL Playoffs.
Yes.
No. I'll bet a million dollars on it. Any takers?
Nope, but it might be when the Anti-Christ arrives.
But it may be when the antiChrist commitsNO !

The Mayans as a civilization NEVER left the Copper Age. So, they never progressed into the bronze or iron ages.
Their mathematics were unbelievably primitive. They had no knowledge of fractions--and their astrological "predictions" were wildly inaccurate -- huh? ---really?
Yes, indeed. If you want to see a superior ancient society in action, check out the Greeks -- then the Romans.
So what did the Greeks do?
Invented the concept of the infinitely small (infinitesimal) and the infinitely large (infinity). Perhaps more than any other civilization, we are indebt to the Greeks for their advancement of mathematics and mathematical knowledge. It was the Greeks who first advocated the concept of proof - that a thing was not knowable unless it could be proved to be so. For the Greeks, mathematics took on a more esoteric pursuit, with puzzle solving (like calculating the diameter of the earth to amazing accuracy) was simply for the sake of solving the puzzle. They had a thorough understanding of fractions, Pi, and discovered irrational numbers.
The Romans took the Greek theoretical knowledge and gave it a practical bent with mastery of Pi as seen in the arch, barrel vault and dome.
Mayan mathematics was based on superstition, NOT on any discoveries that advanced their knowledge.
We should be so lucky.
