Several of Archbishop-designate DiNoia's lectures have been posted online here.
Hmmmm....
This bodes well for the New Missal!
**The U.S. bishops are expected to vote on the remaining sections of the missal, which will contain new English translations of the prayers in Mass and other formal liturgies, at their June and November meetings.**
Watching for any coverage on these!
One of the great stumbling blocks to our conversion was the clunky language of the official English translation.
Fortunately the Episcopal church had switched to pretty much the same awful modern translation, so it wasn't as big a wrench as it COULD have been.
Head to head between Cranmer and the USCCB would have unfortunately been a massacre, and the USCCB would NOT have won.

I think it has been a stumbling block for many. I detest some of the English — especially in the NAB. Can’t wait until it is re-written.
You really can't beat the English of the old Prayer Book. Or for that matter the Douay-Rheims, although it's more Latinate than the KJV.
Read it aloud to yourself, and listen to how the language rolls. It is a glorious declaration of Truth.
I BELIEVE in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And of all things visible and invisible:And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God; Begotten of his Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of Very God; Begotten, not made; Being of one substance with the Father; By whom all things were made: Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, And was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary, And was made man: And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried: And the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures: And ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of the Father: And he shall come again, with glory, to judge both the quick and the dead; Whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Ghost, The Lord, and Giver of Life, Who proceedeth from the Father and the Son; Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; Who spake by the Prophets: And I believe one Catholic and Apostolic Church: I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins: And I look for the Resurrection of the dead: And the Life of the world to come.
Amen.
Apparently the Holy Father thinks he's credible.
They convened today.

BXVI has the respect of not only the conservative faithful, but the Orthodox as well. Pray with us for reunification in our lifetime so that Church of Jesus Christ united can forge ahead in these troubled times.
No more clown Masses or Wiccan nuns or liberation theology or...
I heard an hour-long lecture lecture he gave. Very insightful,

Sigh. It was.

Our battle Pope is rectifying the NAB even now.
We need some good warlike old hymns to sing while smiting, though.
***I’ll stand shoulder to shoulder in the battle with this Pope any day.***
I’ve seen one of our Orthodox friends mention that he may be considered the first Church Doctor in many hundreds of years.

We need to drag some of our schismatic, pagan and heretical friends out of the Protestant prayer barns and into a good cathedral for either traditional Tridentine Mass or Orthodox Greek Mass.
Christianity requires things of people; it is not a passive club where one rents a specific pew towards the front and is seen on more Sundays than not (except when Christmas falls on a Sunday, then our evangelical friends are let out for the week).

This is one of the reasons I like the Douay-Rheims. The language is beautiful.
Jerusalem comes in first for a study Bible — that is if you have the “study” edition and not the “readers” edition.
I think this Archbishop soon to be needs to go and rake Trautman over the coals. LOL!
I got hold of a Douay-Rheims and took it to "Why Catholic" class. That was amusing. But at this point I'm like "ANYTHING but the NAB. Douay-Rheims. Young's Literal. Greek Testament. NKJV. Whatever."
