How very cool!
I returned to the Catholic Church full force during the year of Jubilee in 2000.
My son is entering seminary in 2010, right after the end of the year of the priest.
We like to do things during memorable occasions I guess :)
Thank you for finding this! I am very happy about the Year for Priests - so needed at this time.
You so very welcome!

"Priestly spirituality requires a climate of proximity to the Lord Jesus Christ, of friendship and personal encounter with Him, of 'shared' ministerial mission, of love for and service to, His Person in the 'person' of His Body and Spouse which is the Church. To live the Church and give oneself to her ministerial service implies a profound love for the Lord Jesus Christ." Priest, Pastor And Leader Of The Parish Community

All in the Church, whether they belong to the hierarchy or cared for by it, are called to holiness, according to the Apostle's saying: 'For this is the will of God, your sanctification (1 Thes 4,3; cf. Eph 1,3).'"

Priest Saints
The priestly ministers of Jesus Christ, invested with the character and grace of the Sacrament of Orders, and constituted witnesses and ministers of divine mercy, voluntarily undertake to serve all in the Church. In whatever social, cultural or historical circumstances, including contemporary society. . . should always be mindful of "the victory that overcomes the world: our faith." Priest, Pastor And Leader Of The Parish Community
The following priest saints and blesseds are a few examples from the many good and holy priests that have been alter Christus from the beginning of the Church to the present.
"I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see how the fields are already white for harvest (John 4,35)."
Please post information about other bishops, priests on this thread. Thanks.
I’m trying to make this a resource thread for all of us to use!

"There is one final motive which can be regarded as comprising all the others. If the priest is called 'another Christ' and is truly such by reason of his sharing in Christ's power, should he not also become and be recognized as another Christ through imitation of Christ's deeds? Let it be our principal study to meditate upon the life of Jesus Christ." Haerent Animo, Pius X
