Could the *Rapture* happen with Solar Flares?
Vanity | Jan 5th, 2009 | TaraP

Based on a Sermon given by Perry Stone.. On Jan 9th, 2009 Fox News-Powerful Solar Storm Could Shut Down U.S. for Months. A new study from the National Academy of Sciences outlines grim possibilities on Earth for a worst-case scenario solar storm.

Damage to power grids and other communications systems could be catastrophic, the scientists conclude, with effects leading to a potential loss of governmental control of the situation.

The Bible says Peace will be taken from the earth. Perry suggested this could be the trigger...If we have a worldwide electricity collapse, we would no longer be able to communicate with one another no phone, no internet, no television, that being the case how would anyone know a rapture occurred? would they care?

People would be in a panic and chaos would happen across the Globe...

Perry Stone believes the Tribulation started Fall of 2008.

What is your take on this?

I believe Prophecy is different than fortune telling, prediction and crystal balls...

What folks like Perry Stone do is fortune telling, pure and simple. Folks who follow him are being deluded.

Could the *Rapture* happen with Solar Flares?

The question doesn't even make sense.

Hardly...Revelation was written about events that would unfold in the future...

True. Whose future and how much in the future is the question.

And they still haven't unfolded, yet...

That's one theory. Not a good one, IMO.

That's because you don't believe what God says...

If you believe what God says, none of Revelation has happened yet...Well actually, none of it has happened yet whether you believe God or not...

If you believe what God says (See Rev 1:1-3), almost all of Rev. has already happened. It describes events in the immediate future of the readers, but now in our past. Fulfilled prophecy is a real faith-builder to reflect upon!

I think it makes alot of sense, for instance if a Major Solar Storm happened, knocking out all the electrical grids, no electricity...you yourself would not be aware if the rapture happened..eventually you would because you are a believer....

Wrong. I simply don't believe that the futurists say about it. I don't confuse what God says and what men say that God says.

That's too bad. The Bible says nothing of this nonsensical sort. It is the imagination of men.

Not now we don’t, but God always reveals these things to His prophets and just before the time comes, those who are His children will know, IMHO.

I believe His second coming is part of the feast of Trumpets. God often moved during the feasts.

my understanding is that there will be no warning or notice given.

And so I quote the scripture I had excerpted from my original post:

“No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.” (Matthew 24:36-41

Besides, if he were to announce a date certain, it would take all the fun out sinning and falling short of the glory of God.

As believers read the signs, they will know. I hope I’m dead by then and looking down from heaven, but that’s not for me to say.

We won’t know until just before, but we’ll have plenty of signs to go by if we read the Bible and study it. Many will still be clueless, especially the non-believers. Wouldn’t want to be them...

Anyway, it’s important to just be spiritually prepared.
