You ever notice that fringe left groups (e.g. PETA) are NEVER described as “small but vocal.” I always understood that when someone says, “It’s not about the money.” it is always about the money. I will now add that when someone says “small but vocal” that means “sizable and I want them to shut up.”

The president is clearly a sincere and able man
Sorry, but Obama is a fraud. I will admit, however, he is very "able" at being a fraud.
To: HerrBlucher
It shouldn’t matter what kind of man Obama is to anyone but his wife. The rest of us only care what he does.

The Apostles were a small but vocal fringe group also. It simply means that words have power and masses don’t.

But only a rare few manage to be pious, optimistic, evasive, sad and damaging all at the same time. Father John Jenkins, C.S.C., Notre Dames president, is a man of substantial intellect and ability. This makes his introductory comments to President Obamas Notre Dame commencement speech on May 17 all the more embarrassing. Ouch.

Water under the bridge of sadness, now. How soon until the President of Notre Dame resigns? Best be soon. And all the other secular confused. The damage they have done is incomprehensible at best.

I don’t believe it is water under the bridge. This event has awaken the Catholic people and the higher Catholic education system like nothing else could have.
Look for a reform in Catholic higher education coming from the Vatican! (Wanna bet on it?)

This article by +Chaput is outstanding for its clear, even blunt, assessment of what's going wrong, but I'm sorry to say that he isn't digging even a spade's depth yet. The problem here isn't just "intellectual vanity" on the part of Fr. Jenkins. Rather than judge interior motives like "vanity" about which we can only speculate, let's look at more objectively verifiable things like financial links and institutional affiliations.
Because of the ongoing Obama-related publicity, light of inquiry is finally being focused upon network of money and influence represented by the Notre Dame Board of Trustees.
If you simply Google
"Notre Dame" trustees "stem cell" millennium abortion fraud
you'll get about 1500 results, a stomach-unsettling set of indications that the problem isn't just that "Jenkins hearts Obama," but that the Board itself is dominated by members whose policies and practices are palpably corrupt.
The biggies which have come to light so far:
There is a pattern here that cries out for investigation and exposure.
There are two bishops in particular who need to address this: Bishop Daniel Jenky, who actually sits on the Board of Trustees, and Bishop John D'Arcy, who still preserves the university's right to call itself "Catholic".

Good information. May their house of cards crash and burn.
More on Jenky:
one episcopal figure whose silence is notable in this Notre Dame scandal: the Most Rev. Daniel Jenky, CSC of Peoria, IL. [...]
to my knowledge, he is the only CSC-congregation bishop in the United States. He is, in other words, a brother priest with President Jenkins and half of the others members on the Board of Fellows.

"I don’t believe it is water under the bridge. This event has awaken the Catholic people and the higher Catholic education system like nothing else could have."
--True, it has awakened some of the sleeping or the confused. However, it is too late. Obama should have never been awarded an "Honorary Degree" from a Catholic University or any Catholic school. That was simply apalling. Yes, it has awakened some (hopefully many), but when I mentioned "water under the bridge", the deed was allowed to happen. And that has brought great shame and sadness to Notre Dame. They betrayed Catholic policy by rewarding obama; a man who should have been nowhere near that once great University unless he and the University were of parallel thought on the issue of life. ND lowered itself and ruined their reputation. And that's a whole heck of a lot of water under the bridge of sadness. Maybe they'll wake-up by reading great commentary (albeit too late) from people such as this Archbishop (from the article), Father Pavone. Or possibly, they will awake when the see the donation dollars diminish sharply."Look for a reform in Catholic higher education coming from the Vatican! (Wanna bet on it?)"
--Surely hope so. But it's also late in coming. Kerry, Pelosi, Kennedy? Start with them. Excommunicate them, immediately. Kick-out any high-profile "politicians" who call themselves Catholic, yet do not abide by the strictest policies of pro-Life. Let's start there. Seems like so many of the "enforcers" of doctrine are sitting on the fence. Time to take a stand.
