Video: High Mass in the Pantheon of Rome
American Papist ^ | Friday, May 15, 2009 | Thomas Peters

This is pretty cool. There was a Solemn High Mass celebrated in the Pantheon of Rome recently to celebrate the 1400th anniversary of its consecration as a Catholic Church. I wonder what the tourists thought?

Take that, Jupiter.

I have visited the Pantheon many times. I consider it to be the greatest building on earth. It is a true and inspiring wonder. What a venue for a High Mass. Thanks for the link.

I’ve been inside it also; beautiful!

One of the glories of Rome and the world.

Here’s some serious worship in an auditorium...

No, not very serious. More like pop culture passing as Christianity.

While your “auditorium” is filled with a pop like song of praise that will be forgotten in a generation, the Pantheon echos with the praises of saints, martyrs and even angels. A praise song in an auditorium is okay, but it can’t compare to offering up the Son to the Father - and that’s what happend, again, in the Pantheon.

That's not worship...It's not even biblical...You can't offer Jesus up for a sacrifice...GOD OFFERED JESUS FOR YOU...ONCE

The people in the video I posted are worshiping God with song and praise...

That’s where your wrong. The Sacrifice of the Altar is the same sacrifice of Calvary, not multiple sacrifices. Only multiple to our eyes.

Can't be...Impossible...The Apostles did NOT offer Jesus to the Father as a sacrifice so you can NOT continue in the practice of that heresy...The FATHER OFFERED THE SON...

?Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

You can not and you DO NOT offer Jesus to God...Impossible...

Thanks for demonstrating, yet again, your deficient knowledge of Scripture.

“For as often as you shall eat this bread, and drink the chalice, you shall shew(that means proclaim for the tambourine tapping, auditorium crowd) the death of the Lord, until He come.” 1 Corinthians 11:26

If it isn’t worship then you’re calling Christ a fraud.

“It’s not even biblical...”

Yeah, actually it is.

“You can’t offer Jesus up for a sacrifice...GOD OFFERED JESUS FOR YOU...ONCE”

God, through His power, can most certainly allow us to offer up His Son, in a re-presentation of His sacrifice on the cross. There is no limit to the number of times a sacrifice can be re-presented.

“The people in the video I posted are worshiping God with song and praise...”

They’re singing. Some may be worshipping, perhaps all are. But some may also just be singing because they enjoy it. With the Mass, it’s always the Mass. It’s always an offering of the Son to the Father. There is no greater worship. Singing in an auditorium just cannot even come close to it.

Every Mass IS that Sacrifice on Calvary.

You are criticizing a strawman, not the Holy Eucharist.

Can't be...Impossible...

YOU do not have that kind of power. What God commands, man is powerless to veto.

The Apostles did NOT offer Jesus to the Father as a sacrifice...

So says you.

You can not and you DO NOT offer Jesus to God...Impossible...

Transubstantiation is accomplished by the power of the Holy Spirit, at the command of Christ. Lowly, screeching heretics are powerless to stop it.
