...oh I think you know the difference between preaching the Gospel to win converts, versus respectfully entering a temple of another religion, praying, and then leaving. I wouldn't fly the communist Chinese flag on my webpage even if I was in China, but that doesn't seem to bother you either. I guess we just have different understandings of symbolism. I think for the head of the Catholic church to pray in a house of worship dedicated to Allah would have been inappropriate, and I'm glad to see that the Vatican has corrected the record.

The whole story.
I choose not to live my life constrained by fear of what others may think of me; I live my life as God expects, and as best provides for my family. That others live to satisfy men is truly sad.

You got a deceptive headline and ran with it without double-checking. An easy mistake but please don’t try and weasel out by now saying the Vatican “corrected the record” because that simply isn’t true. Your UPI article omitted the full story - see - OPUSFR’s link or read mine. There are also lots more on the net and none of them say he “prayed” there except the one you chose to post.
Here’s lots of news stories about the Pope’s visit to the Mosque and not one of them said he prayed their...:
