You got a deceptive headline and ran with it without double-checking. An easy mistake but please don’t try and weasel out by now saying the Vatican “corrected the record” because that simply isn’t true. Your UPI article omitted the full story - see - OPUSFR’s link or read mine. There are also lots more on the net and none of them say he “prayed” there except the one you chose to post.

Here’s lots of news stories about the Pope’s visit to the Mosque and not one of them said he prayed their...:

Wrong, officer. I read and posted a news story from a well-known news source. I did run with anything. They reported him as praying there. Yes, I relied on their story, since I wasn’t there. Yes, it turned out to be incorrect according to the Vatican. The story you posted published after the one I posted, so I consider the Vatican spokesman’s purposeful mention that the Pope didn’t pray there as a correction of an existing impression held by at least one significant news source.
