People can pray ANYWHERE, at any time. I don’t think there’s much danger that B XVI has turned coat on us Catholics. I’m sure it was a simple, “God bless these poor benghted lost folks and have mercy on their souls” kind of thing.

It would have been extremely inappropriate for the Pope, in my opinion, to have prayed in a mosque...and it seems as though the Vatican agrees since they've now issued a statement saying he did not pray there. Symbolism matters. If Obama prayed in a mosque, we wouldn't say 'people can pray anywhere,' believe me!
