South Bend, IN -- Adding insult to injury, the University of Notre Dame announced today the appointment of a new law school dean who made donations to pro-abortion candidates, including President Barack Obama. The Catholic college is already under intense criticism for inviting Obama to give its commencement speech.
Newton gave Obama's presidential campaign $2,300 during the first quarter of 2007.
Newton also gave $500 to pro-abortion Catholic presidential candidate John Kerry during the first quarter of 2004 in his race against pro-life President George W. Bush.

Years ago I read comments on a blog by a graduate of the ND law school. He said that he was mocked in class when he criticized Roe v. Wade. Positivism reigns at the school, which means that it has eschewed all Catholic principles.

"At what point does the Pope get involved? There's precedent for that. I can remember the exact circumstances, but I believe that Pope John Paul II publicly castigated at least one Catholic University.

Once they lose their credibility there is no way they can get it back.

I took an MBA on line from Regis in Denver. In the Marketing Class the first case study was how to sell condoms better in Bangladesh. I asked the instructor if he thought that was a strange subject for a supposedly Catholic (well Jesuit) school. His answer was, “I've never thought about that.”
Condoms seem such a trite subject now to question.

Condoms seem such a trite subject now to question. Fifty years ago, the question would have been about better marketing of cigarettes to teenagers.

A school named after the Blessed Mother with an abortionist loving Obama getting a honorary degree.
When you slap Christs Mother in the face, bad things could happen.

The struggle at Notre Dame shows that the Laity will have to get the job done with not much help from the Bishops. At present about 5% of the U. S. Bishops have gotten excited enough to comment PUBLICALLY about the support Notre Dame has given to the pro-abortion movement.
