The trouble is that any sin that is not dealt with by the blood of Christ would sentence one to the Lake of Fire. "For the wages of Sin is death" and "It is appointed for man to die once and after this comes Judgement".
The only way to pass Judgement from an utterly Holy God is to be covered by the faultless Passover Lamb's blood - the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. All other excuses will fail.
