Below is a letter that has been circulating with a great idea. The message began in silent prayer from a faithful follower who was spending quiet time with God.
Dear Friends and Intercessors:

This afternoon I was praying about a number of things, and my mind began to wander. I was deeply distressed at the symbolic actions that President Obama took as he began his presidency. Namely, that he signed executive orders releasing funds to pay for abortions, permission to fund human stem cell research, and federal funding for contraception. I have been involved in the pro-life movement for nearly 20 years, and it pained my heart to see a man and a political party committed to the shedding of innocent blood. This man, and this party lead our country, but they do not represent me or the 54% of Americans who believe that abortion is wrong and should no longer be legal.
As I was praying, I believe that God gave me an interesting idea. Out in the garage I have a box of red envelopes. Like the powerful image of the red LIFE tape, an empty red envelope will send a message to Barack Obama that there is moral outrage in this country over this issue. It will be quiet, but clear.
Get a red envelope. You can buy them at Kinkos, or at party supply stores. On the front, address it to:
DON'T FORGET YOUR RETURN ADDRESS. THEY WON'T BE DELIVERED WIHOUT IT.
President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W.
Washington , D.C. 20500
On the back, write the following message.
This envelope represents one child who died in abortion. It is empty because that life was unable to offer anything to the world. Responsibility begins with conception.
Put it in the mail on March 31st, and send it. Then send this website to every one of your friends who you think would send one too. I wish we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for every child who died before having a a chance to live. Maybe it will change the heart of the president.
Warmly, Christ Otto

What are you protesting, exactly?
Are you opposed to the government funding abortions? So am I.
Do you think abortion itself is wrong? Well so do I.
Do you think women ought to be put in jail for having an abortion?
Do you believe that what goes on between a doctor and his patient ought be revealed to some government agent?
Just curious.
Hank
THE ENVELOPES WILL NEVER REACH THE WHITE HOUSE.
All WH mail is sent to a facility in another state. The envelopes will be discarded there.
When a murderous criminal enterprise’s service is listed in the Yellow Pages, yeah maybe government agents should take notice. Being a doctor does not absolve one of liability for extreme felonies.
Even if they never reach Zero, this volume of mail makes an impact to the postal workers.
And they are getting an economic stimulus by us pro-lifers buying stamps.
The naysayers are harping that to won’t do any good.
Well, it costs little and doesn’t hurt.
I have 5 ready to go tomorrow.
I think protests like this are meaningless.... I hate to be a naysayer...
BHO will ignore it...
Those who see the envelopes will just think that TOTUS is now signed up for NetFlix....
I agree wholeheartedly. The misconception is that Obama is struggling in some type of naivety and that we can somehow shake him awake. This man is driven to destroy the sanctity of the American way of life and usher in a new age of socialism. Millions of pitchforks and torches will accomplish more than empty envelopes or teabags.
Print your own pro-life postage stamps. You can even create and design you own.

So you think a woman should be put in jail for having an abortion, or are you intentionally evading that question?
I’m not judging either way, just want to know what people really believe is the right thing to do?
You have to understand that whatever power you grant the government, it is going to be used against you. Give them the power to know everything a doctor and patient do, and they’ll use that as an excuse to know everything that goes on between you and your doctor, or your children and their doctor. That may be OK with you, I don’t know, but it’s one thing that socialized medicine will require. Don’t see how one can object to that aspect of socialized medicine and still enforce abortion laws.
Hank
It’s a medical issue if there really is a medical issue.
It’s a murder issue if it’s merely retroactive birth control.
Guess which vastly outnumbers the other.
Guess which advertises the service in the yellow pages.
Yes, the government has a legitimate interest in prosecuting murder.
About as meaningless as a tea party eh?
Very impressive. Thanks.
By contrast, the modern "tea party" is a brief whimper of discontent and will be brushed aside by a government that is set on wrecking the Republic, citizens be damned.
I hope that I am wrong and Obama will order his fellow Nazis to lay down their arms in a gesture of surrender, but that is unlikely.
The murder of 50 million Americans.
Oh, I thought this was about abortion?
Guess language doesn’t matter any more.
(Last time I checked you had to be born in America to be an American, or naturalized.)
Hank
Well, I thought you were serious, but see it's just a game with you. You think you can make something what it isn't, but using a wrong term for it. If you were honest, you'd call it what it is, abortion. Murder pertains to those already born. Do you think you'll convince anyone by using wrong terminology. It just makes you look ignorant. No, it's a privacy issue, period. You have no business knowing what other people do in their homes or offices. You are not God. Sorry.
Many drugs are outlawed. Does it stop them?
When abortions are outlawed, do you really believe it will stop them? It won't, but it will, like all other attempts of government to force people to behave in ways some people would like them to, cause great mischief.
If you are really opposed to abortion so badly, why don't you offer to support every child that is born that is not wanted. I despise abortion, but hurting more people is not going to stop them, it will only cause more abortions that you will never know about.
Hank
Outlawing murder hasn't stopped it, but is nonetheless the right thing to do and _has_ reduced occurrence thereof (old saw: "some people are alive only because it is illegal to kill them"). Many of those who use abortion as retroactive birth control WOULD choose not to if it were illegal.
it will only cause more abortions that you will never know about.
We're NOT going to see an increase if it were made illegal. Whether or not "you will never know" about them happening is merely a narcissitic non-sequitor.
And yes, the term "murder" _does_ legally extend to abortion. Know your terminology, lest you look ignorant.
There are lots of things that can go on between a doctor and his patient. A hyperbole to make the case, what if a doctor recommended euthanizing the woman’s 2 year old because she’s causing the mother high levels of stress? Should that remain between the doctor and the woman?
I would be against a woman going to jail for getting an abortion under most cases, but some unethical doctor, heck yes.
Now your turn:
1. You say you believe abortion is wrong. Is so, why?
2. Do you think fetuses ever feel pain when being aborted.
3. Do you think it is relevant if fetuses feel pain or not?
