PCUSA committee to consider removal of "homosexual perversion" from document

Members of a committee in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) will gather this week to consider proposed changes, including the removal of a negative reference to homosexual behavior, to a historic document. The General Assembly Special Committee on Correcting Translation Problems of the Heidelberg Catechism is scheduled to begin a two-day meeting on March 27…

Much of the controversy revolved around a reference to “homosexual perversion” among a list of sinful behaviors that is not found in the original German text. Opponents of the current translation argued that the original text and all subsequent translations do not contain any reference to homosexuality and are seeking for a more historically faithful and accurate translation… (Online source)

Men and women, with the open embrace of corrupt Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism—rooted in the Counter Reformation spirituality of apostate Roman Catholicism—and the violation of God’s Word with the ordination of women, it’s only a matter of time before more and more mainstream denominations in spineless evanjellyfish cave on this issue.

One need only look at the now deceased mainline denominations, which followed that exact same path as outlined above. CP brings us the section in question:

Question 87 in the translation reads:

“Q. 87. Can those who do not turn to God from their ungrateful, impenitent life be saved?

A. Certainly not! Scripture says, ‘Surely you know that the unjust will never come into possession of the kingdom of God. Make no mistake: no fornicator or idolater, none who are guilty either of adultery or of homosexual perversion, no thieves or grabbers or drunkards or slanderers or swindlers, will possess the kingdom of God.’” (Online source)

Perhaps next, they’ll wish to edit the text, which follows below. Now, let’s see if it sounds eerily familiar to these neo-Gnostics:

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, NASB)

Sadly, within this bit of acerbic wit from Ingrid Schlueter, there is way too much truth:

You see, if you don’t like something God has said in His Word, or something your founding denominational documents say that reflects Scriptural teaching, you just erase it! What a concept. What an idea. If you just delete God’s views on things, you can cavort like the residents of Sodom with a clear conscience! How cool is that? (Online source)

Par for the course behavior from the Pagan Church USA(oops!) I mean "Presbyterian Church USA."

The largest Presbytery within the Presbyterian Church in the USA recently voted against changing ordination standards that prohibit homosexuals from being ordained as ministers or elders in the Church. The Pittsburgh Presbytery is the largest Presbytery in the world. To say all members of the Presbyterian Church USA approve of this nuttiness is completely wrong. Presbyteries across the U.S. now are voting on whether or not to change ordination standards. I predict a majority will say no.

Perhaps for now. Look at the systematic crumbling of the Anglicans across the world (except for Africa). Look at the crumbling of all mainline Protestant denominations right now. The lord of this world is dividing Christians into small opposing factions. This is just another example.

LOL. Everything is Rome's fault with you guys. If it rains, it's Rome's fault; if the lettuce is wilted, it's Rome's fault; if the wine is sour, it's Rome's fault; and if one branch of Protestantism takes the private judgment and defiance of divinely instituted authority which are the hallmarks of the "reformation" to their logical end and becomes sufficiently apostate that even you recognize its apostasy ... why, that's Rome's fault, too.

The PCUSA's trajectory started with Luther and Calvin, not with Teresa of Avila. That's just a bald fact.

Author is somewhat confused, it isn't the Orthodox/Catholics who ordain women, it is the Protestants.
