I am tired of how some anti-Mormons here at FR, and other places, mis-use the history and teachings of my Church.

Here is the part of the article not posted for you and as you read it, you will find that it does not say the things about my church that is implued by leaving out large parts of the text.
Please note, the address is to us, the LDS people, from one of the church leaders at the time, telling us that we are not doing what we should and that we must do better.
In no way is President Taylor saying what the original post says he is saying..
Notice how the “…” jump the first part of the post into another sentence and into another thought.
The information is taken out of context and turned into an untruth.

The “september six” - 5 excommunications and one disfellowship because they wrote things that the Church had problems with:
Lynne Kanavel Whitesides - Lynne Kanavel Whitesides is a feminist noted for speaking on the Mother in Heaven.
Avraham Gileadi - Hebrew scholar. He has been re-baptized, though.
Paul Toscano - Co - author of “Strangers in Paradox: Explorations in Mormon Theology”. Ex’d for “false teaching”
According to Toscano, the actual reason was insubordination in refusing to curb his sharp criticism of LDS Church leaders’ preference for legalism, ecclesiastical tyranny, white-washed Mormon history, and hierarchical authoritarianism that privilege the image of the corporate LDS Church above its commitment to its members, to the teachings and revelations of Joseph Smith its founding Prophet, and to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
His wife Margaret was also excommunicated for her doctrinal and feminist.
Maxine Hanks - another feminist
Lavina Fielding Anderson - Former editor of the Ensign yet excommunicated for being a “feminist”
D. Michael Quinn - Mormon historian, and perhaps his excommunication is the most justified since he came out of the closet as a gay man. But he is nevertheless a solid historian who wrote things (like about polygamy) that the LDS church did not like.
The LDS church reserves the right to excommunicate whomever they wish, but calling intellectuals “apostates” encourages the propagation of “faith promoting history” only. The LDS does not approve of any form of criticism and dialogue.
The anti-intellectual attitude of the LDS can best be seen by the admonition to not “think yourself out of the church.”
And FWIW, most Catholics who profess “gay marriage” and “pro-abortion” are “Catholic in name only” and not observant. Kinda like “Jack Mormons”. There are also Protestants who fit this category.

Ya better take a look out your mormon window at the +200 mormonism offshoots that all claim they are “the church”...
I love it how the protest, inc. bunch keeps telling me what I better do. Perhaps it is not realized that there are probably that many baptist splinters.

had you not made a big deal out of protestant groups.
Doesn’t seem a persuasive argument, since your “living
church” is as bad or worse in that same measure.
I remember hearing the story of a Baptist church that split
over whether women could wear slacks. Slackers versus non-slackers. Incredible silliness.
All the more reason not to put your faith in ANY church,
but in Jesus Christ, who never fails.
BTW, I’m not sure if anyone you are typing to here IS a
Baptist. I’m not. So I find it funny that you are so
obsessed in your posts with Baptists.
On a serious note, I’m not sure what traumatic experience
happened to you at the hand of a deranged Baptist, but
I hope healing comes to you. I imagine it as having been
a deep wound.

It was an extremely deep wound and I am working on it. Fortunately for me, Jesus Christ is helping little old me heal enough so that I will be able to forgive. Let us remember that Jesus Christ instructed us in His example of how to pray to ask for forgiveness EVEN AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US.
Sometimes, that help comes later than we would like, but it comes and the relief can be such a wonderful thing.
I think you are entirely right - forgiveness is a key to healing. I’ve heard it said that choosing not to forgive is like punishing yourself instead of the person who wronged you. I also know sometimes it takes time. I had a terrible wrong done to me and it took years before the feelings went away - even though I forgave.

Gentlemen: Man, do not stop now. This is the closest thing to brotherhood I have seen lately. Now, if we can get the others to garner this Spirit, we may be able to cut through all the silliness.

As a true protestant, you must accept Benny Hinn as a true minister of God!
We don’t have to accept him. We are given discernment by the Holy Spirit.
Personally, I have no use for him, and I consider him to be a false prophet, partly because he teaches a prosperity gospel and partly because I question his near worship Katherine Kuhlman. I also question about every other televangelist.
However, I do kinda get a kick out of his “holy ghost machine gun” bit.
