I remember a preacher telling this story. He said a famous evangelist was preaching at a large western university. He preached a moving, evangelistic message about surrendering to Christ. The preacher extended the invitation hymn and an altar call for any in that collegiate audience to surrender and dedicate his life to Jesus. As the audience sang, a harsh, grating and raspy noise was heard above the singing. Down the aisle came half of a man. He had no body from his waist downward. With twisted arms and hands he scooted himself forward on a homemade skateboard until he reached the front of the massive auditorium. He motioned for the preacher to bend over where he could whisper something to him.
When the audience had finished singing and sat down, the evangelist relayed to the crowd: "This man just pushed himself forward on a skateboard and asked me a most unusual question. He asked me if I thought God could use only half a man?" I told him and I am telling you now, the answer is "Yes." "God can use a half of a man, if that half of a man is truly and totally dedicated to Christ. However, he cannot use a full man or a full person if that person is not altogether sold out to Christ."

Not true IMO. God used non believer many times in the bible to effect his will.
How many times did he use rulers of other countries to punish or conquer Israel. Or what about when Joseph was taken to Potipher by the Midianites.
Potipher was used by God to place Joeseph in a position of power which later helped God's people during a famine.

Imagine a country, USA lite, without CA,MA,CT,RI,VT,ME. Heaven. 1/3 less liberalism.
The point of this devotion is not, “Does God show mercy to His children living in a fallen world?” Rather, it’s a question of, “If you’re a believer in Christ, is your lifestyle in line with His will? If not, drastic measures may need to be taken in order to change it.

That is true. Liberals do tend to make fun of handicapped people these days like Obama did on Leno. They may resent God using a handicapped person and make fun of Christians for that.

Therefore, since Israel again sacrifices her children, as is most of the civilized world, will God again raise up the a fierce people to avenge the death of the innocent?
