Kurt Warner is an Arizona Cardinal and a great football player.
I greatly admire Kurt Warner, but he is no Pat Tillman.
One is a warrior of the body. The other is a warrior of the soul.
I disagree. Warner puts God before country, which in my opinion is the correct order.
I don’t have a problem with anything Kurt said here. It sounds like a variation of the prodigal son story. Some people are religious and think that reliousness will be enough to get them into heaven. I wish him well with this two year contract and he can put up good enough stats to get him into the Hall Of Fame. That induction ceremony speech will truly be a bad night for the devil. LOL!
From what I know, Pat Tillman gave his life for his fellow man.
I read something about that somewhere. Not really looking for a debate here.
I admire Kurt Warner.
It is just a matter of perspective. Saving lives and defending the country or saving souls and promoting the kingdom of God. Both are noble.
This is what sometimes happens to luke warm Catholics when material gain misleads someone to profess Christ as if the material gain was divinely given.
In the case of Kurt Warner material gain is his stumbling block.
I know that's a speech I will listen to!
I love his stead fast witness. IIRC, his wife caught some grief in St. Louis because she was outspoken about her faith.
Yes he did. He had everything fame, big money contract on the table, luxury and gave it all up to serve. An incredible example to everyone.
Why bring his life and sacrifice up?
What's sad is that Kurt Warner doesn't have the ability to fully express what God means in his life as does Billy Graham or other such notable evangelists and so he is now ridiculed for his inability to explain his belief.
I don't even want to partake in conversations dealing with God because ultimately I am going to have to explain why I believe there is a God and where is the proof.
I can't do either one so all I can say is I believe in God and let it go at that and don't ask me any more questions............
I suppose that it is simply about compare and contrast.
Warner is a great American, and Pat Tillman should not be forgotten.
Pretty simple as they both were/are Arizona Cardinals players, it drew my attention, and I found it worthy of note.
Or, as an alternate (and I believe more correct theory):
This is what happens when people who truly seek God decide to pick up their Bible and actually read what it says instead of taking what the priest has told them all their lives...
The Bible can and does speak to people. Verses like 2 Tim. 3:16-17 come to mind...
Take the blinders off that history, heavily revised by centuries of Catholic domination in the Europe, and you can find the truth.
All the denying in the world won’t change the fact that the Bible, when read and prayed over by a dedicated child of God, is sufficient. The errors introduced to church history were 100% introduced by men - through “tradition” and through fallible interpretation of MEN.
Poignant, but true.
You made a great point.
I wasn't sure why you had mentioned Pat Tillman, but you sure are right he should never be forgotten. He represented the best of us. Have you seen the movie "Taking Chance"?
I know it's tough for Kurt Warner it seems to be a common sport in America to wait for him to trip, or not say something perfectly, so he can be criticized for not being perfect. He doesn't seem to waver though and always gives The LORD credit for everything in his life.
But you are the one reading it “correctly” right?
That is why so many liberals hate guys like him.
They want him to fail because he appears to take the Bible seriously and in their eyes men like him are enemy number one.
Reading isn’t that hard.
You are so spot on!
It makes me so mad to see the media distort, misrepresent and jump all over any mistake a professing Christian makes. They are trying to make the individual out to be a hypocrite because he's not perfect.
The truth is that's why he's a Christian. He's not perfect and knows it.
He has been given the same forum as Bill G and others yet he denies the church and elevates his interpretations of the Bible(Like Billy G) that was given by the catholic Church inspired by God through His Catholic church
