There were also collaborators in almost all the occupied non-Nordic countries.
In a way I don't have a dog in this fight, as I object to both the idea that defense of Pius XII is an essential component of conservatism and to Jews who want to turn belief in the Holocaust into a religious dogma while not giving a flip about liberal theologians who deny the Biblical events. However, some FReepers are playing a very dangerous game here. If "the Holocaust" encompassed everyone persecuted by the Nazis (and the Jews were targeted for extermination, not persecution), then you might as well add the homosexuals as well (which they themselves have been loudly doing for some time now).
That is the myth, that they were fixated only on the Jews. They managed to kill 9 million Slavs and Gypsies; seems like they were fixated on eliminating lots of people. Of course the real Holocaust - not the myth propogated in US schools - was all non combatants that were targetted by the Nazis. Yes, homosexuals too - homosexuality is not a capital crime, for goodness sake. Why would a real history of the Nazi crimes ignore the larger part of it?
Or are you saying that 9 million souls don’t count?
There are always collaborators, like the Jews who dominated Soviet and East European secret police.
Saying the Holocaust was a Jewish issue is a form of Holocaust denial. Only about half of the folks exterminated by the Nazis were Jewish.
And while you are listing the collaborators, don’t forget the Jewish leaders who collaborated with the Nazis, some under duress, some more freely.

Do note that the holocaust of the Gypsies was, incredibly, even worse, in pure numbers and in barbarity, than the horrendous holocaust of the jewish peoples by the nazi slimes.
The Gypsies, for one. (And they made a start on that.)
But long term, they intended to exterminate Poles and other Slavs in the territory they conquered. This was to be done by attrition due to starvation, overwork, and disease, and by preventing reproduction using abortion and contraception.
(It's all in Shirer's book.)
