I never thought I would see the day that McConkie was “unofficial”. When I was LDS he was the first one we went for, then Nibley.

But I know what you mean. The LDS were proud not to be part of the “So-Called Christian” world. Now they are trying to become part of it? Weird.

Not so weird, it's called marketing.

They are moving overseas to fertile new markets since the have pretty much run the tank dry here.

“Christian” plays very well most places.

Sadly, you are correct. *sigh* I also suppose it is easier to get converts to the LDS in areas that don’t have as much internet access as we do.

Just as a side note it is amazing is it not that the ldsers on FR are willing to believe some random homosexual web site about this fellow but not the former ldsers on FR about their experiences within lds.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

As a boss, would you want a worker that lies to get his degree?

As a human with a sould, would you follow an Organization® started by a man who was deceived by two Demons?

But there is a group here that do not want us focusing on more then the little part that has been spun to make BYU, and it's sponsoring Church, look bad.

You spin poorly...

But there is a group here that do not want us focusing on what the CRIME was supposed to have been.

Why is that?

BTW - the 'church' and it's minion 'looks' bad because of the way they do business.

Elsie, Elsie, Elsie. . . . Sounds like you have some demons of your own.

But mine are mere imps compared to the institutionalized ones of the Great Mormon Church...

2 Corinthians 11:12-15
 12.  But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.
 13.  For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
 14.  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
 15.  Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

I honestly couldn't care less. He broke the rules, he got kicked out, end of story.

I don't care about the details. I don't care about the stupid little details. I couldn't care less who's linking what. I.....don't.....care.

+++++++++

Your befortime words do not match what you said here.

I would almost think I am talking to someone who just wants to put the Mormons down and who does not care about the rest of the facts that do not support their conclusion.

Oh dear, its that obvious to you too!

Since things are OBVIOUS to you 'ladies', and ONE of you is a LAWYER that deals in presenting EVIDENCE to the JURY; perhaps NOW we'll get an answer as to what was OBVIOUSLY untrue about PRESBYTERIANism that Joseph Smith cliamed to have learned.

If you guys are right you should be much more relaxed, there is peace of mind in being correct. The knee jerk reaction, the blanket dismissals and ignoring of anything said, the tricks and rhetorical circles are just part of the game I guess, or maybe it is more to the core, maybe, based on what I have seen of the training and such done by the LDS in order to “defend the faith” it is drilled in from an early age and it is all you know.
+++++++++++++++

There is just so much that is repeated and repeated that has been proven wrong over and over. Some posters do not care and keep repeating the falsehoods about this Church. Others are just deceived by the lies repeated by those who do not care if thy are not telling the truth.

And go back and reread your comments on this. My mother would have called what you have said to be a “left handed complement”.
You say something kind, then slip in a dig of some kind.

You do know that there is enough true differences between our faiths that ya’ll do not have to twist our faith and our history into something it is not in order to show that difference.

And you do not need to twist this case away from the fact that the student did not fulfill his part of the contract.
The rest is just misdirection by those who want any excuse to put this Church in a bad light.

So much blather.

Cut to the chase and tell us what is RIGHT about your ‘church’.

(Compared to the BIBLE; that is...)

ONCE MORE:

Which part did he not fulfill?

NONE of you MORMONS have stated this - just ACCUSE, accuse and ACCUSE some more.

It's getting very old and the LURKERS want to go to bed!

Every time you start with the demon stuff, I have to laugh.

What it shows is that you are at least up on the latest anti-Mormon seminar stuff. You probably even teach one.

For 170+ years, the anti-Mormon position was that Joseph Smith made up the Book of Mormon. Some said he stole it from other sources — none of which bear anything more than a superficial resemblance to the Book of Mormon. Some said he just invented it all.

The anti-Mormons had lists of “proofs” that Joseph Smith made up the Book of Mormon. I’ve seen them on FR. Have you seen them, Elsie? Maybe you even posted them.

Things like —

The Book of Mormon is a fraud because there is no river in Arabia that runs all year.

But, guess what, they have discovered one, about three days journey from Jerusalem, just where the Book of Mormon says it is.

The Book of Mormon is a fraud because there is nothing like the land Bountiful on the Saudi peninsula.

But, guess what, they have discovered a little isolated green sliver of land on the east coast of the Saudi peninsula, due east of the burial ground called Nahom, just like the Book of Mormon says. And it is full of all the things that the Book of Mormon describes as being in the land Bountiful.

The Book of Mormon is a fraud because everybody knows the Jews didn’t build temples anywhere but Jerusalem.

But, guess what, scholars now know that observant Jews did build temples in other places.

As knowledge of the ancient world grows, detail after detail in the Book of Mormon is being substantiated. An avalanche of information has been uncovered in the last 10 or 15 years.

So— with their anti-Mormon seminar lists being outdated faster than they can keep up, and detail after detail substantiating that the Book of Mormon is, indeed, an ancient record, with the discovery of facts that no one knew in 1830, let alone an uneducated farm boy — what do the Anti’s do?

The shift gears and say, yeah, Joseph Smith had a vision, and he wrote the Book of Mormon. But it was all revealed to him by demons. Yeah, demons. That’s the ticket — demons.

You guys are funny.
