Frustrated that her college does not distribute birth control, Stonehill College senior Katie Freitas decided she would do it herself.
After collecting hundreds of free condoms from two family-planning agencies, she and about 20 classmates placed boxes of the contraceptives in student dormitories across

In college I worked as a limo driver at a five star hotel. One night, a couple came in from NYC to visit their daughter who was a Freshman in her first semester at Villanova.
As I drove them to dinner, I overheard their conversation:
“So, how do you like Villanova so far, Sarah?”
“It's okay, I guess. Too many Catholics though.”
Those evil fornicating ADULTS.
Stonehill College should expel her for creating scandal and for violating Catholic teaching...but again, I suspect the school will just look the other way.
The Boston Globe is notorious for running stories like this a few times a month to stir up some good old fashioned Catholic bashing. Last week it was a story about the “controversy” at Boston College when the administration decided to...are you ready for this?...hang crucifixes in classrooms! Oh, the humanity! And the Catholic bashing with screams of “divisiveness” and “lack of diversity” roared for days on the Globe’s comment board.
maybe it’s just me, but i don’t think i’d trust a condom i didn’t purchase myself
The really good news about the BOSTON GLOBE is that their views on morality on such that you can use articles like this to teach your childen WHAT NOT TO DO!!!.
This newspaper advocates immorality, not morality, so they are a good source for children to learn what not to do.
On the other hand, Stonehill College should be praised!!!
This goes back to the murder of Father Sebastian Rale in August 23, 1724. Two years before this, Father Rale's missionary church to the Indians was ransacked and burned to the ground by Massachusetts Bay Colonists.
His dictionary of the Abenaki Indians was stolen and now is an important part of the natural history museum at Harvard University.
Of course, Harvard University does not have people who can spell four letter words, so the dictionary is classified under the name "Kale", not "Rale".
Of course, they also do not say that this is the Catholic priest's stolen dictionary and who the person is...
It is unclear if Father Rale has been canonized a saint because the British (and American Colonists) condemned because of his missionary work with the Indians in Maine...
He was very savagely killed -- not only by Indians, but also by the British Colonists of Massachusetts...
Did you know this about Sebastian Rale and his Abenaki dictionary?
Oooh, I saw that in "Archaeology" magazine just recently. Cool stuff!
IF they were adults, they wouldn’t be expecting someone else to provide them with condoms. They’d take responsibility for themselves. No matter how old these people are chronologically, mentally they’re about 13.
He wrote letters to his nephew about some of his "adventures".
One was a trip to New York City with about 600 Abenaki Indians just before the French-Indian War (against Britian).
The British Governor welcomed the Indians, but was did not the presence of Father Rale. (The Indians were given a salute of canon from British warships in the harbor).
At one point, the Chiefs of the tribe went off to talk about the talks with the British. Father Rale stayed with the Governor.
At this point, with the chiefs gone, the governor looked at Father Rale that some of the Indians took as a threatening look.
Father Rale was immediately surrounded by 10 braves (who would have fought to the death if there was any attempt to harm Father Rale).
The first two bishops of Boston made pilgrimages to the place in Maine where Father Rale died.
Additionally, the Indians of Maine, when asked to join the American Colonists in the American Revolution, only agreed to fight the British if they would get a "Blackrobe" like Father Rale. The Abenaki's had the only Indian officer in the American Revolutionary Army.
The "Blackrobes" were so important to the Abenaki that a group went to see General Washington when he was President Washington to have him fulfil the promise to give them a "blackrobe" (Catholic priest).
They carried with them the cross from Father Rale (that he wore at the time of his murder) -- a valued possession of the Indians...
Interesting. Does your earlier post “it’s not clear whether he’s been canonized a saint” mean that he might be one of the “others” of the North American Martyrs?
I don't know his status, but I have seen activities to try to get him canonized (beatified)...
Here is a thread that was posted under Catholic:
The Cause of Father Sebastian Râle, Martyr 23 August 1724
This is a FreeRepublic Article based on a webpage by a Jesuit on Father Rale...
The fact he was one of the North American Martyrs I thought was a point of discussion on FreeRepublic somewhere...
I hear she’s easy.
