College enrollment in a northern Arizona polygamous community has dropped more than 50 percent in the past five years -- a decrease a school official says is tied to a government center that shares the property.
"We've had many, many people tell us they will not come to the college because of that," Chancellor Michael J. Kearns said.
Mohave Community College in Colorado City, Ariz., is now asking the county officials to stop use of the multi-use facility that is home to police and social service agencies.

Well, that solves that, less than two months from now.
I guess authorities were trying to get some of the people from the communities away from the others and try to get information out of them.
This probably has more to do with the fact that, at around the same time (2004), Warren Jeffs started demanding huge financial contributions (as well as contributions of girls and young women) from the Short Creek community to finance the YFZ ranch community. The Short Creek community is in major disarray, due to internal FLDS issues as well as the seizure of the United Order assets to fulfill judgement against Warren Jeffs.
Correction: that’s the “United Effort Plan” (UEP), which was theoretically modelled after the 19th century Mormons’ “United Order”.
Thank you - I’ll be reading up on that, it sounds interesting.
If you want a good background on the FLDS, I recommend Elissa Wall’s book “Stolen Innocence”. She’s the young lady who pressed charges against Warren Jeffs, resulting in his conviction as an accomplice to rape. Woven in with Elissa’s personal story, the book really gives an excellent blow-by-blow history of the FLDS’ shift from oddball religious community to horribly abusive cult, under the direction of Warren Jeffs.
Thank you for the recommendation.
FLDS spokesman Willie Jessop called the facility “as welcome as a skunk at a picnic,” and said many FLDS now attend classes elsewhere

So Big Willie Jessup, the fLDS Enforcer, is really who’s behind the decision to not attend there...
Jessup wants to control who the girls talk to...
Wonder how many of them are attending elsewhere ???
Ex FLDS folks writing books. Whatever floats their boats. But personally I think the FLDS have a right to fight back especially after their kids were swept up at gunpoint and hauled off in Baptist buses to be tortured, probed and humiliated by a pile of strangers. Twenty-four adult women were held against their will for two months - two giving birth while TX authorities stood around threatening to grab the babies as they exited the birth canal.
