Gay couples seek marriage licenses BY ELIZABETH AHLIN WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER
A group of same-sex couples was standing in line when the Douglas County Clerk's office opened for business this morning.
In an act of protest against Nebraska law, the couples were there to apply for marriage licenses on the eve of Valentine's Day.

or Countryside Community Church of Omaha Nebraska
or First United Methodist Church of Omaha Nebraska
wasnt involved in this.
when it comes to Liberal Activism, they are on the front lines usually in Omaha.
==================================================
First Central Congregational Church of Omaha Nebraska
or Countryside Community Church of Omaha Nebraska
or First United Methodist Church of Omaha Nebraska
are all part of the Omaha Lukewarm 6 as many christians call those 3 churches and 3 spirtual sister churches of there's here in Omaha
cause they are heavilY into Liberal Activism and Universalism
(i.e. denying what is said in JOHN 14:6
Well will you look at that!
They did this as a Valentine’s Day publicity stunt... and it WORKED!
I agree that
Metropolitan Community Church of Omaha Nebraska
First Unitarian Church of Omaha Nebraska
Second Unitarian Church of Omaha Nebraska
did this as a publicity stunt.
I read about 15 Bible verses which mention homosexuality, and all of them condemn the lifestyle. Any church who supports homosexuality didn’t read those verses or choose to disobey the Bible. I hope that, this Sun., clergy of many other Omaha-area churches will tell their members that those three churches disobeyed the Bible.
Not churches...wolves in sheep’s clothing.
They might just as well be celebrating pentagrams and have seances regularly as the "spirit" they are worshiping is NOT the Holy Spirit but the "spirit of the prince of the earth!"
phil, dont hold your breath on that.
Omaha Nebraska area churches to a large extent could care less about truth and sound doctrine
this is part of a plague of Apostasy in our churches
whether it be universalism or far-left activism
or promoting Todd Bentley
or Lou Engle and his friends bizarro teachings
or the Prosperity Gospel
or the Contemplative Spirtuality garbage
or Rick Warren or the Emergent Church
or any number of other false teachings that are in the churches here in the Omaha Nebraska area
(many of these false teachings are also being peddled across the country and beyond the USA
Omaha’s churches are known to promote false teachings
what makes me CRY is that many people I know are being led astray by these guys.
cause I have friends who are trying to grow spirtually and being led astray
by the teachings of Creflo Dollar and Brian McLaren and Richard Foster among others
I PRAY that they see the truth about guys
like McLaren and Warren
and Todd Bentley
and John Ortberg and Rob Bell
and Richard Foster and the others like them who are leading people astray
but it makes me CRY that many CHRISTIANS in OMAHA dont realize they are being deceived.
what makes me ANGRY is there are very few bible believing and bible preaching pastors here in the Omaha Nebraska (if any)
that little to no backbone to stand up to false teachings and false teachers
Pastor Pat Abendroth has stood up to false teachers
as have couple of small church pastors here but there are a minority in Omaha
Pastor Les Beauchamp used to stand up to False Teachers, but Beauchamp has stopped doing so in the last few years
and has since promoted folks like Todd Bentley and Brian McLaren and John Ortberg
I agree.
I BTW wish Omaha’s churches would finally stand up these
wolves in sheeps clothing that are leading at
Metropolitan Community Church of Omaha
and their Omaha area far-left sister churches/ spirtual brethren
Matthew 7:21-23
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. See (John 6:28-29)
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Hell will be full of very religious people who have no understanding whatsoever.
Have you sent a letter to the Editor of the Omaha World-Herald, about this topic?
no.
I work for them BTW.
I am hesitant cause the Letters to the editor are somewhat censored at times
from what I heard and I am afraid they may try to make me look bad.
if I sent a letter in.
I think the phony christian newspaper called the Heartland Gatekeeper out to address this
or those so-called local christian talk radio hosts on KCRO 660 here in Omaha
I doubt they will say anything cause KCRO 660
and the Heartland Gatekeeper
could care less if there is a apostasy problem in Omaha Nebraska area churches
No lack of (bad) news...

In this case, please put "church" in parentheses.
>> Second Unitarian Church of Omaha Nebraska <<
The SECOND one? LOL! Now the Unitarians are making jokes in the naming of their churches! Well... besides calling them churches.
(Unitarians don’t in any way shape or form pretend to be Christians, except they name their gathering-places “churches.”)
“First Baptist,” “First Presbyterian,” etc. aren’t bragging rights asto who built the church. They are ways in which churches stake claim as being from the oldest denomination in a tradition. Since their denominations were always merging, splitting and changing their names, it was, they didn’t go by “American Baptist Church of Springfield” or “Presbyterian Church USA Church of Westmont.” It’s their way of saying, “if you’re a Presbyterian new to town, you probably want to come to this church, not that other church which believes who knows what.”
One of these days a Catholic or Orthodox pastor is going to get in a triumphalist mood and just stick up a sign, saying, “First Church. Period.”
I will remember that fwdude
a lot of Omaha churches deserve parentheses around the word church
considering how lukewarm and to the far-left some of them are.
