While indeed there are people who disagree with Mormon theology and practices, there are also a goodly number who are mentally unhinged about it.

I never would have believed it either prior to the Republican primary last year when a segment of the GOP went absolutely bonkers over having a Mormon as a Presidential candidate.

Oh, they denied it of course, and said it was the 'flip flopping' thing or liberal thing, or whatever.

But there was no such diatribe and hate against Guiliani, or McCain, who by every standard was more liberal than the Mormon candidate.
