California Fires and Same Sex Marriage - A Catastrophe of Biblical Proportions

On June 17th, 2008, California legalized same sex marriage. Only three days later, on June 20th, lightning storms ignited more than 1,400 fires throughout the state. As of this writing there are over 1,700 infernos all across the state that have burned down well over half a million acres of forest land. The current situation is certainly a catastrophe of Biblical proportions. The strange thing is California's fire season doesn't even normally begin until late summer.

Is there a relationship between the commencement of same sex marriages and the fires that are burning down the state of California? Is it possible that God has sent down judgment from heaven and that He is trying to get the attention of an unrepentant people?

... according to the Bible homosexuality is an abomination ... God has punished such behavior in the past ...

You may remember the story of Sodom and Gomorrah from the 18th and 19th chapters of Genesis in the Bible. The account tells us that God was displeased with the people of Sodom and Gomorrah because their sins were grievous ... Well, chapter 19 gives us an account of men that were inflamed with lust to have sex with other men. The last time I checked this was called homosexuality. The consequences were that God sent down fire and brimstone and destroyed the cities.

So you see, in our disobedience and rebellion against God we bring punishment against ourselves. The same is true with homosexuality.

And now... we have seen it in California. The people of America are so smart and so well educated. But why can't they connect the dots? (Proclaiming themselves to be wise they became fools) Why can't they see the hand of God in these catastrophes? Could it be they've got... smoke in their eyes?

—How about going to talk to some rabbinical scholars, until then keep your Biblical interpretation to yourself. Balaams ass is wiser than you.—

Wow! What a class act you are. Does your mom know you are on the computer?

My response is to your post is based on my disgust of Christians making our Lord look like a carnival show. Standing up and claiming certain events were by the hand of God. For example we have Santa ana winds in california several times a year. These winds blow over trees that hit power lines that then cause sparks that then light brush that then engulf houses of people that are not homosexual and voted for prop 8.

Tell me sir how specifically that is an act of comdemnation again homosexuals specifically by God?

My God is a God of mercy. Yes he has destroyed people using natural disasters but those events were pretty much foretold to those peoples in warnings from prophets.

Do not asign your own meaning of natural disasters as curses from God if you do not know them to be God breathed. You are making a false testimony about the nature of our God and convince others that He is standing there with his fist raised ready to kill all who oppose Him.

If you want that kind of god the mosque is down the street.

Yes we in california are surrounded by blatant sin, but who of you Pius pharisees come to california for mission work? Are these people not just as lost as your neighbor next door? Do you stand there and pray to God, “Thank you that I am not like those sinners in California....”

I am wondering if the problem with luke warm Christians today is that they are so quick to judge others so they will look good in their own eyes, believing God sees you in the same way. May God not judge you with the same size cup of mercy you have shown those of us in California.

Hows that for class?

I posted someone else's theological hypothesis regarding the wildfires. I specifically said in an above post that I did not necessarily agree with his hypothesis. If you are that unhappy, then visit the Pastor's link, send him an e-mail, and take it up with him.

Now you say..” Dont blame me I didnt write it”

Listen whether you were the author or not you implied with your question that you believed it enough to post it and mockingly said... Something for californians to look forward to.

Either you believe it or now you don’t . Sorry mommy just told me I have to get off the computer.
