On June 17th, 2008, California legalized same sex marriage. Only three days later, on June 20th, lightning storms ignited more than 1,400 fires throughout the state. As of this writing there are over 1,700 infernos all across the state that have burned down well over half a million acres of forest land. The current situation is certainly a catastrophe of Biblical proportions. The strange thing is California's fire season doesn't even normally begin until late summer.
Is there a relationship between the commencement of same sex marriages and the fires that are burning down the state of California? Is it possible that God has sent down judgment from heaven and that He is trying to get the attention of an unrepentant people?
... according to the Bible homosexuality is an abomination ... God has punished such behavior in the past ...
You may remember the story of Sodom and Gomorrah from the 18th and 19th chapters of Genesis in the Bible. The account tells us that God was displeased with the people of Sodom and Gomorrah because their sins were grievous ... Well, chapter 19 gives us an account of men that were inflamed with lust to have sex with other men. The last time I checked this was called homosexuality. The consequences were that God sent down fire and brimstone and destroyed the cities.
So you see, in our disobedience and rebellion against God we bring punishment against ourselves. The same is true with homosexuality.
And now... we have seen it in California. The people of America are so smart and so well educated. But why can't they connect the dots? (Proclaiming themselves to be wise they became fools) Why can't they see the hand of God in these catastrophes? Could it be they've got... smoke in their eyes?

No, there isn't. Wildfires have always been a regular occurrence in California, long before same-sex marriage was legalized. We only hear about wildfires more often because of the increasing numbers of idiots who build houses in fire-prone areas.
Besides, if God wants to send a message, I am 100% certain we'd all know exactly what He was trying to say and there would be absolutely no question as to what He was referring.
I dunno. He’s used fire before and a lot of people have misinterpreted His ways. Some people think Obama becoming Prez is His will for our turning our backs on Him.
New Hampshire legalized same-sex civil unions on May 31, 2007, and it went into effect January 1, 2008. I didn’t notice any contemporaneous natural disasters...
You know that little ole thing called the 10 commandments? You remember that one part where he says....
“You shall not take my name in Vain? “
Well what that means is.... Do not dare speak in my name unless I have directed you to.
When I read this I would not want to be in your shoes where you have ascribed actions as divinely issued when they have not been.
By doing so you are declaring yourself a prophet. If you are wrong we are commanded to stone you to death. My guess is that you don’t want that kind of responsibility.
Same-sex civil unions are not the same thing as marriage. Even homosexuals (and homo-friendly judges) consider civil unions inferior to true marriage. As for Massachusetts and Connecticut, which do have court-mandated same-sex marriage, perhaps they are seen as smaller than California, and thus not worth making an example of. After all, Sodom and Gomorrah could not have been the only two immoral places in the world at the time they were “zapped.”
—You shall not take my name in Vain? —
That primarily means it is a sin to use the Lord’s name as a curse word.
Then why hasn’t God incinerated Massachusetts & New Jersey?
There were Santa Ana winds long before homosexuals came out of the closet in California. However, the overbuilding in fire-prone areas of CA has gone on for decades. Remember "ET" from the early 1980's, and the giant subdivision under construction that the kids rode bicycles through? Multiply that by tens of thousands, and you start to see the problem.
There at least 10 righteous men left in California.
O. K. First, that isn’t true. It was common practice at the time of the Ten Commandments to “swear” an oath when a deal/contract was made and people would often use God to show their serious nature. To use God’s name in a dishonest manner is using His name in vain.
Second, anytime you deal with some sort of “Act of God” it is tempting to say with certainty what are the thoughts of God. Is there a presedence for God to judge sinful behavior? Absolutely. Does His judgement involve natural disasters? Obviously, these are quite well documented throughout Scripture. However, with all of that being said, we must all be very careful not to put thoughts into the minds of God. Is your theory possible? Absolutely. Do any of us know for sure? Not on this side of Heaven. So it is best to stay away from absolutes.
—To use Gods name in a dishonest manner is using His name in vain.—
I stand corrected. I always assumed it was saying “G*ddamn” or some such vulgarity. There’s more to it, I see.

Yes, there is ... There are none so blind as he who will not see.”
“Remember how Jesus said “For judgment I have come into this world, so that
the blind will see and those who see will become blind.” And remember too
how he added when they asked him if they were blind too, “If you were
blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.”
Matthew 13:13
13:13 Therefore I speak to them in parables: because they seeing
see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand
Jeremiah 5:21
Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:
Mark 8:18 (New American Standard Bible)
18”(A)HAVING EYES, DO YOU NOT SEE? AND HAVING EARS, DO YOU NOT HEAR? And do you not remember,
To know Jesus is to repent and give your life to Him. Those with hardened hearts and stiff necks will not. Your choice. Pray that God will give you understanding.
It is not only California .. Katrinia was a judgement and Ike and the time there was 600 tornados over the mid-west. What does it take to get your attention?
This is true. The blind will not see.
Check post above.
Also, those two states only legalized it for their citizens, barring people from other states from coming in, getting married and then returning to their own states. California did not have this provision, which meant that people could come from other states, get married and then return to their own state and demand that their California "marriage" be recognized under the federal Constitution.
I don't know if the fires were a warning, but I do believe that God is slow to anger. As Father Corapi has said, we cannot depend on Him staying His anger forever as we continually reject His eternal truths. Especially regarding homosexuality and abortion.
In my experience, people who believe in religion can construct whatever they want to around a given set of facts. They'll even alter the facts if necessary to arrive at the preconceived result.
Other than corrupt politics, I'm not aware of any gross immorality committed by the people of the Gulf Coast prior to Hurricane Katrina. If fierce storms are some sort of divine punishment, then shouldn't it have hit Massachusetts?
How about going to talk to some rabbinical scholars, until then keep your Biblical interpretation to yourself. Balaams ass is wiser than you.
