The practices of Big Govt are what got our nation into the fix we’re in now.
Leviathan. Obama. Same things.
Big government is pure idolatry. People are looking to government to meet their needs. To take care of them. To provide security and safety. Do not tell me that you are a Christian when you have placed the government at the center of your life. It’s like telling me that you are a vegan whilst stuffing your face with a BigMac. Obama likes to cloak himself in Christianity while setting himself as some sort of high priest in the government-as-god cult. ANd Christians by the millions fall for it rather than being repelled by him and others of his ilk.
“We do not need more intellectual power, we need more moral power. We do not need more knowledge, we need more character. We do not need more government, we need more culture. We do not need more law, we need more religion. We do not need more of the things that are seen, we need more of the things that are unseen.... If the foundation is firm, the superstructure will stand.” -Calvin Coolidge
Socialism and Faith in God do not mix.
This is because in order for socialism to have ANY chance at success, the populace must be willing to place an unprecedented amount of FAITH in the state... or dependence.
Such a level of faith in government has absolutely no room for other forms of dependence, especially in a very powerful organization such as the church. It is therefore not surprising that over the last 30 years, the socialist movement has sought to undermine the church by discrediting God and those who believe in Him. For the last 30 years, our government has systematically and progressively placed itself into a competitive role with the church as opposed to a supportive one.
When those in power are men of faith, they understand the inherent evils of big government. This is why the constitution was so restrictive on such powers. They also understood the important role that the church plays in society... to encourage individual dependence upon God whom the founders recognized as the One from whom our freedom is derived.
Unfortunately for us, and for freedom, we have rejected God as sovereign over our nation, and we therefore reject our freedom in favor of a governmental system which has failed to prove it’s ability to “provide” for the people each and every time it has ever been tried.
As a result, we no longer have men of faith in positions of power who understand what it takes to maintain our freedom. They only understand their own power... and the importance of a dependent people to maintain it.
