Pope Benedict XVI is set to visit Israel and the Palestinian territories in May 2009 after accepting an invitation by President Shimon Peres. The Vatican and Israel are said, thus, to hopefully end the high tension of recent months between the Catholic Church and the Jewish people over the initiative of canonizing Pope Pius XII.

This visit, which would be the third visit of a pope to Israel since the establishment of the state, has not yet been officially confirmed.

This is Good News Maybe the POPE Can talk to the Armenians and be a Mediator Between Them and The Greek and Russian Orthodox during his sojourn and keep the Holy Sepluchure in One Peace/Piece!!

This Visit won't even solve the Palestinian and Israel situation or Maybe With Gods Help it will! BTW The Pope will be Visiting in May, Mother Mary's Month in the Catholic Church.. that is no coincidence. She is revered by Muslims and Catholics. I sincerely hope GOD Can Help the Palestinian Catholics... they are Beaten down By Both Sides. I wonder If Cardinal Foley will be traveling with POPE Benedict XVI as well Bishop Camillo.. I do Hope the POPE meets Fr Peter Madroos a Palestinian Catholic Priest he is a Biblical Scholar on ALL the books in THE Bible...

A name to research, thanks. I've been to the most a sale at a Coptic Church and have known a few. Always looking to expand one's own knowledge.

Is there anyone besides me wh thinks Jewish-Catholic tension to be largely a creation of the MSM that finds solace in Jewish-Catholic tension?
